Wolves: Dinnery gives ‘good news’ verdict on Pedro Neto injury

Wolverhampton-Wanderers-Pedro-Neto

Sky Sports contributor and injury expert Ben Dinnery has given a ‘good news’ injury verdict on Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Pedro Neto.

The Lowdown: Neto injury

Neto is currently out with an ankle injury and won’t be able to play for Julen Lopetegui’s side in their Premier League clash against Liverpool this weekend.

The 22-year-old hasn’t been seen in a Wolves shirt since their 2-0 defeat to West Ham United at the start of November of last year.

In eight league appearances, Neto has yet to produce a goal or an assist for the Old Gold so far.

The Latest: ‘Good news’ on Neto

Dinnery spoke on Premier FPL Injuries about the timescale of a return for the Portuguese winger, he could return at the end of the month or slightly after that.

He stated (43:25), “Good news with regards to the potential return of Pedro Neto. Will hopefully look to join the first-team and full training maybe over the next seven to 10 days, all being well.

“That should hopefully put him in contention for maybe the back end of February or going into early March.”

The Verdict: Neto must stay fit

We believe that Neto could be a real talent for Wolves, but he’s had real issues staying fit in recent times.

He’s suffered five different injury issues with the space of nearly four years with the Old Gold.

Two seasons ago, Neto made the most appearances he’s ever made as a Wolves player in the league and the winger produced his best goal-contribution tally for the English club.

Ex-Liverpool forward and pundit Peter Crouch raved about him in the past, labelling his stats at the time as ‘incredible’ and described him as an ‘important’ part of the Wolves team when talking on BT Sport.

He’d certainly be a boost to the right wing in our view, Pablo Sarabia is very new to the team and could take some time to settle and adapt to life in England.

Wolves do also have Adama Traore at their disposal, but the Spaniard has been criticised for his end product during his time with the Old Gold. Adding Neto to the fray will slightly take the pressure off both Sarabia and Traore in our view.
