# Wolves: Madeley reacts to Morgan Gibbs-White’s exit

**[Wolves](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/wolves-news/)‘ decision to let Morgan Gibbs-White join Nottingham Forest is a ‘no-brainer’ because of the transfer fee, according to journalist Steve Madeley.**

### The Lowdown: Gibbs-White moving on

The 22-year-old is a great young talent who has started the season well for Wanderers, playing all 180 minutes of their opening two [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/) games in 2021/22.

It looks as though Gibbs-White’s days at Molineux are about to come to an abrupt end, however, with Forest on the verge of acquiring his signature.

A huge deal worth £44.5million is [nearly done](https://twitter.com/David_Ornstein/status/1560250852522266625?s=20&t=6eBGN2kcxLXt9vc18U0Sag), according to the reliable David Ornstein, as the midfielder makes the relatively short move to Nottingham.

### The Latest: Madeley discusses ‘no-brainer’

Reacting to the news on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/SteveMadeley78/status/1560276514675265536?s=20&t=6eBGN2kcxLXt9vc18U0Sag), Madeley claimed that the transfer is one that Wolves simply couldn’t say no to, considering the price tag involved:

> “Realise it’s always disappointing not to see one of your own get established in the first team but given all the circumstances this feels like a no-brainer for Wolves. While he has the potential to be worth more, he would probably never have been worth more to Wolves.”

### The Verdict: Too good to turn down?

Gibbs-White is someone who has every chance of enjoying a bright future in the game – he has been [called](https://www.molineux.news/news/barnsley-head-coach-poya-asbaghi-praises-wolves-youngster-morgan-gibbs-white/) ‘outstanding’ by Barnsley manager Poya Asbaghi – with his valuation highlighting how highly Forest think of him.

\[freshpress-poll id=“399044″\]

While it would have been a positive to keep hold of him for many years to come, Madeley is right in his assessment, with £44.5million simply too much to ignore for a player who still only has [48 Premier League appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/morgan-gibbs-white/alletore/spieler/429014) to his name.

The money could be used wisely on new signings for Wolves between now and the end of the transfer window, as well as covering the fee paid for [new signing](https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/football/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2022/08/18/wolves-smash-transfer-record-with-matheus-nunes-signing/) Matheus Nunes.
