# Wolves: Ruben Neves keen on Barcelona move

**[Wolves](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/wolves-transfer-rumours/) midfielder [Ruben Neves](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tag/ruben-neves/) would be ‘delighted’ with a move to Barcelona in the summer transfer window, according to a new transfer report.**

### The Lowdown: Barca linked with Neves signing

The 25-year-old’s Molineux future has been a major talking point of late, with numerous clubs [linked](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/liverpool-fc-news/liverpool-premier-league-ruben-neves-wolves-transfer-news-updates/) with a move for him ahead of a potential summer exit.

Barca have been one of the leading [candidates](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/wolves-premier-league-ruben-neves-barcelona-transfer-news-updates-busquets/) to snap up Neves at the end of the season, as Xavi looks to sign a replacement for midfield legend Sergio Busquets.

Now a new update suggests that the Wolves hero could well end up in Spain this summer.

### The Latest: New update emerges

According to [*El Desmarque*](https://www.eldesmarque.com/barcelona/fc-barcelona/noticias/207906-fichaje-estrella-enfrenta-a-joan-laporta-con-xavi-hernandez-no-lo-quiere-en-el-vestuario-del-barca) \[via [*Sport Witness*](https://sportwitness.co.uk/jorge-mendes-offered-wolves-man-club-available-reasonable-price/)\], Jorge Mendes has ‘once again offered’ Barca the chance to sign Neves, with the Catalan giants liking him ‘a lot’ as a player.

It is also stated that the Portuguese star ‘would be delighted’ to move to Camp Nou, further adding fuel to the fire.

### The Verdict: Hard to turn them down

With each passing week, the more it does feel as though Neves really will depart this summer, having almost miraculously stayed put last time around.

The [38-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ruben-neves/profil/spieler/225161) Portugal international would surely jump at the opportunity to join Barca, given their prestige as a club, not to mention having past Portuguese greats such as Luis Figo and Deco play for them.

Ideally, Neves would sign an extension on his Wolves deal that [runs](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ruben-neves/profil/spieler/225161) until 2024, but he may feel he has now outgrown the club’s current level, especially if they are relegated from the [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/).

The [£50,000-a-week](https://www.spotrac.com/epl/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/ruben-neves-27794/) midfielder has been a great servant for Wanderers, making [238 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ruben-neves/alletore/spieler/225161) and being [hailed](https://www.shropshirestar.com/sport/football/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2022/11/01/hugo-bueno-amazed-by-wolves-skipper-ruben-neves/) as ‘incredible’ by Hugo Bueno, but it would be hard to begrudge him such a big transfer.
