# Wolves: Theo Corbeanu tipped to leave Molineux in January

**Wolves academy manager Scott Sellars has admitted that he expects young star Theo Corbeanu to leave the club on loan in January.**

### Corbeanu on his way out?

The 18-year-old confessed that his short-term ambition was to play first-team football as soon as he possibly could, whether it was in Nuno Espirito Santo’s side or with someone else (via [101 Great Goals](https://www.101greatgoals.com/news/exclusive-101-speaks-to-wolves-starlet-theo-corbeanu/)).

The Canadian-born winger has scored twice and provided one assist so far during the current Premier League 2 campaign ([TransferMarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/theo-corbeanu/profil/spieler/568535)), and is starting to [turn heads](https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/wolves-news-theo-corbeanu-wiki-19260566) with his performances.

Not only does the player possess potential, but the club themselves do, with super-agent Jorge Mendes helping turn the West Midlands outfit into an [attractive proposition](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/jun/19/jorge-mendes-wolves-influence-chinese-owners-signings) for players in recent years.

Speaking to [BirminghamLive](https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/wolves-transfers-goncalves-kilman-sellars-19294016), Sellars believes that clubs will come in for him in January as he looks to gain experience at a higher level.

“I have no doubt that come January we’re going to have lots of enquiries from people wanting to take him on loan because of how he’s performing.”

### Transfer Tavern take

If there is no room in the Nuno’s side for Corbeanu, then there is no reason why he should not be allowed to leave on a six-month loan spell elsewhere.

U23s’ boss James Collins described him as “outstanding” who has the world at his feet (via [BirminghamLive](https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/wolves-news-theo-corbeanu-wiki-19260566)), which is high praise that represents his potential.

For the time being, Corbeanu will have to wait and see if he gets the opportunity at Wolves, or elsewhere.
