# Wolves: Rayan Ait-Nouri eyed up by Lyon

**Lyon are interested in signing influential [Wolves](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/wolves-news/) left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri in the summer transfer window, according to a fresh transfer report.**

### The Lowdown: Ait-Nouri shines for Wolves

The 21-year-old has developed into a hugely impressive young player at Molineux, making [23 appearances](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/355401/History/Rayan-A%C3%AFt-Nouri) in the [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/) last season and averaging 2.8 tackles per game, the joint-most of anyone in the squad.

Ait-Nouri has been hailed as ‘[fantastic](https://www.wolves.co.uk/news/mens-first-team/20220515-lage-on-frustrating-norwich-draw-conceding-first-and-changing-the-dynamic/)‘ by Wolves manager Bruno Lage and, having been their highest-rated player to start more than four league games last term (as per [WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/161/Show/England-Wolves)), he has proven to be an important member of the team, and will surely continue to be.

That’s if the youngster stays put, though, with a new report suggesting that he might not be in the Black Country for much longer.

### The Latest: Lyon keen on Ait-Nouri

According to [Media Foot](https://mediafootmarseille.fr/lol-pense-a-une-pepite-de-premier-league-en-defense-info-media-foot/.html) \[via [Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/club-trying-to-catch-big-fish-at-wolves-this-summer-players-profile-very-interesting/)\], Lyon see Ait-Nouri as a ‘very interesting’ proposition, as they seek to bolster their defensive options ahead of next season.

The report explains that the Ligue 1 outfit see it as ‘trying to catch a big fish’, such is Ait-Nouri’s reputation, although several clubs are thought to be interested in the 21-year-old, for whom Wolves are willing to entertain offers.

### The Verdict: Potential big loss

Keeping hold of your best players is always vital and Ait-Nouri fits into that category at Wolves, considering how important a figure he has become, both at present and hopefully in the long-term future.

However, the 21-year-old’s head could be turned by a club which [regularly offers](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/olympique-lyon/pokalhistorie/verein/1041) European football, so the Old Gold may find it hard to keep hold of one of their most prized assets.

Losing Ait-Nouri would undoubtedly be a big blow to Wolves, but his current deal doesn’t [expire](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rayan-ait-nouri/profil/spieler/578391) until 2026, so Fosun should at least be able to demand huge money for his services if they are to part ways with the youngster.
