Former Wolves ace Bright Enobakhare is about to join Peterborough United on a trial, according to reports.
Enobakhare moves on
The 22-year-old left Molineux at the end of last season after a six-year stay at the club, where he scored three times and provided one assist from 49 appearances and over 2,000 minutes worth of game time (TransferMarkt), which saw him go out on loan multiple times.
While at Coventry City, Mark Robins described him as “Premier League quality” but advised him at the time that he needed to tidy up his game in certain areas (via Express & Star).
But according to Football Insider, the Nigeria U23 international will return to England and will undertake a trial at London Road in light for a permanent move.
The report added that Darren Ferguson’s men have their eyes on promotion to the Championship and believe that the versatile forward can be the man to help them get there.
Transfer Tavern Verdict
Nuno Espirito Santo had to let him go towards the end of his time at Wolves, and it would have been selfish of the Portuguese tactician to keep hold of him.
With Raul Jimenez hitting the ground running since his £30m permanent move from Benfica in 2019, it was always going to be a tall task for Enobakhare to dethrone the Mexican.
That being said, he potentially has a fantastic new opportunity in front of him. Looking back, his exit from Wolves was the best thing for both parties.
And in other news, Wolves fans rage over ‘joke’ decision after official announcement.
