Tom’s Top 5 Premiership Fouls

Date: 10th March 2010 at 4:56 pm | Filed under: Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Premiership | Author: Tom Jinks | Tags: , , , ,

There have been hundreds of terrible fouls in football, and I’m going to pick my worst ones. Some tackles are accidental, others are done with complete malice. I’m going to keep it to a domestic level, so no tackles from Qatar or some random European country are going to be included. Obviously there are countless other horrible fouls that have occurred over the years, but the players included here didn’t even …

Heading for the door?

Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez is again coming under increasing pressure after his team’s 1-0 loss to Wigan last night.

The Spaniard manager who gained Champions League glory with Liverpool in 2005 is under huge pressure to gain the coveted fourth place Champions League spot after a majorly disappointing season. Last night’s game at the DW stadium against Wigan was an example of Liverpool’s shortcomings the season. A lack of …

Liverpool At Wigan – The Robert Benn Report

Date: 9th March 2010 at 3:33 pm | Filed under: Liverpool, uncategorised | Author: Escapini | Tags: ,

I really don’t want to be too negative and start sounding off with a knee-jerk reaction…. but seriously, last night was shocking. It was embarrassing. In fact, that doesn’t do it justice. The performance and attitude of the team as a collective was pathetic. There was no teamwork, no hunger and no desire!

Last night, as has been the case on numerous other occasions this season, we showed a complete lack …

Liverpool – The Escapini Verdict

Date: 9th March 2010 at 9:21 am | Filed under: Liverpool | Author: Escapini | Tags:

Well that was an unedifying mess. If you were a Liverpool fan.

For Wigan of course it may have given everyone an insight as to how a modestly talented but determined outfit can play given a freshly laid pitch and a manager with who thus far this season has talked a good campaign but failed to deliver one. This then, may be Martinez’ turning point.

But last night wasn’t about Wigan. Sure …

Mirror Mirror On The Wall Who’ll Take Rooney To The Ball?

Rooney + 1 but who? Had I been asked that question yesterday I would have said Emile Heskey without a second thought. Having witnessed the performance of the England team last night, it seems Heskey will have a job on his hands if he is to keep the number 9 shirt that has been his throughout the World Cup qualifying campaign.

Peter Crouch was the star of a slow starting show at …

England vs Egypt Report & Player Ratings

In the raucous, intimidating caldron that isn’t Wembley Stadium, England lined up for this World Cup warm up friendly with Egypt in their brand new trendy away kit – the 435th to be inspired by 1966.

Possibly daunted by such grandiose allusions, England’s players spent much of the first half passing it to the team in white, which unfortunately for once, wasn’t them.

After the expected half hearted booing of John ‘Big Man’ …

England Squad Make Us Smile At Last [VIDEO]

Date: 3rd March 2010 at 9:16 am | Filed under: England, Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham, Video Funnies | Author: Escapini | Tags:

England haven’t been a generator of non stop laughs of late. Just in case you’ve been living in a cave in Afganistan or you’re as self absorbed as a Pineapple Dance Studio dancer, it’s largely been talew of woe incorporating morons, fornicators and… actually it’s been quite funny in a dark, dark way.

Gavin and Stacey star, Comic Sport Relief, er a welcome lack of French, Saunders and the perrenially unfunny Lenny Henry. Who was, as it happens, also  love rat.

Oh look, just press play. It’s great.

Liverpool’s Babel Worth The Bother?

Date: 3rd March 2010 at 8:48 am | Filed under: Liverpool | Author: Prashant bhatt | Tags: , , ,

Liverpool’s Babel character, is he a mystery or what? He seems to be top of the list in Benitez’s traditional 65th-70th minute substitute appearances. Whenever Babel does get a chance to put on the red shirt he can do with frustration or edge of the seat stuff.

Apart from his main asset- his pace- he has scored a few crackers in his time with Liverpool.

Unfortunately for Babel he is seen as a player …

Liverpool Protestors Latest Plan Revealed

Date: 25th February 2010 at 6:57 pm | Filed under: Liverpool | Author: Escapini | Tags:

Liverpool fans protesting against Hicks And Gillet have a public relations wall.

The Liverpool Echo they claim, isn’t doing enough. The reality is that in a city divided by only two clubs they will never get it right. Everton could win 8-0 and if they Echo run a match report they get a trail of telephone calls from disgruntled Reds bemoaning bias.

The reality for Liverpool is that Man Yanited’s scheme to infiltrate Old …
