Rumours are afoot that Marouane Chamakh is being chased by PSG, with a possible transfer in January in the offing. Following Tuesday nights performance, not too many tears would be shed if this ensued and, yet again, The Arsenal would be in for a tidy profit on any deal.
He & Na$ri kept us afloat for the first half of last season, but Cham’s form has disintegrated over the past 12 months and shows no sign of improving.
While clubs are interested, the time to sell is now and all offers must be considered.
This would leave us woefully short of cover for RVP. Our new number 9 seems to be a bit part player at best. Some say, cynically, Park’s purchase was a marketing ploy and would not be up to the task should the worse happen to Robin. This leaves Arsene Wenger in the transfer hunt again and all that entails.
A rumoured target has made it known that he is open for a move and personally I believe it would be a transfer worth perusing.
Lukas Podolski was recently quoted saying:
‘My family and friends may live here and I know every corner of the city, but if I am in top condition, then I think I could fit into any side in Europe.
I am not forced to stay only in Cologne.’
He can play anywhere across the forward line, is a proven goal-scorer and it’s thought a bid of around £10 million would be enough to secure his services. The sort of player Wenger likes, at a price he likes.
