2 exciting Football League players that West Ham should target next week

Our landlord here at the Transfer Tavern is hoping that West Ham can have a stronger January window than that they had in the summer…

Over the summer, they recruited a lot of players who were unproven in English football, and that is certainly something that Slaven Bilic will want to avoid going forward.

With that in mind, the West Ham fans in the Transfer Tavern feel their side should look to sign from the Football League.

Of course, players from the lower leagues have always proven to be quality players for the Hammers in recent seasons when you look at the likes of Aaron Cresswell from Ipswich Town and Darren Randolph from Birmingham City.

With the transfer window slowly winding down, it looks set to be a very important week for the Hammers.

With that in mind, here are THREE exciting Football League players that West Ham should target next week…

SCOTT HOGAN

West Ham are reportedly keen on Scott Hogan, and a deal for the talented forward certainly makes a lot of sense.

Hogan, 23,  has been superb in the Championship and was the highest scorer in the calendar year of 2016 – and West Ham desperately need goals to try and get that top 8 finish they crave.

Whilst Andy Carroll is a good goalscorer, his lack of reliability and fitness is a severe problem for Bilic.

This is a no-brainer deal for both club and player.

CHARLIE TAYLOR

Taylor has been vital for Leeds United as they find themselves in the play-off spots this season under Gary Monk.

With that in mind it could be hard to negotiate a deal with Leeds – as they’ll be reluctant to let such a talented player go – but if a Premier League team comes calling it can be hard to turn them down.

Taylor is another player in a long line of cracking young English talent to come out the Leeds United academy and could be the next player to make it big from their side.
