Our Chelsea fans here in the Transfer Tavern are loving life at the moment and are expecting a busy January window to help further their title challenge.
The Blues are flying at the moment in the Premier League and look ominously good as we head into the second half of this season.
Antonio Conte’s 3-4-3 system has been fantastic this year and no-one in the Premier League has found a way to stop it just yet.
The Italian can’t rest on his laurels, though, as eventually they will get worked out and so he needs to use January to shake things up a little and keep their opposition on their toes.
The Stamford Bridge club definitely have the resources to make such changes and so, with that in mind, our landlord reckons these two in-comings should be made by the club as well as this one player getting sold…

James Rodriguez still has the ability to be a world beater but he’s not getting the chance at Real Madrid to be just that.
He’s not settled as much as he’d have liked whilst Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale have proven themselves to be the main men for Los Blancos. Time for a change of scenery, then, and at Chelsea our landlord thinks the Colombian, who lit up the 2014 World Cup, could begin to hit those heights once again.

Ivanovic’s time is up according to our landlord.
The Serbian had been part of Conte’s plans at the start of the season but with the change to the back three he came out of the side and doesn’t look like he’s going to get back in it. He was already in decline before then, anyway, and so now might be the time that he moves on from Stamford Bridge with a bag full of memories under his belt.
In: Marco Verratti
N’golo Kante has been a real gem of a signing for the Blues this season with his tenacity but if they signed Verratti to go in alongside him they’d surely have even better output from him.
Both players are industrious, gritty midfielders that do not let their diminutive stature play any part in causing their performances to dip. Verratti is a world class player in that central role and would undoubtedly make Chelsea an even better side than they already are.
