Our punters here in the Transfer Tavern have relished the chance to see Rangers back in the SPFL.

Although they’ve made a return, they find themselves second currently, and there is a huge gap between them and Celtic.

Although the Gers may not have the budget to compete with Celtic, they do however have a brilliant manager who has brought players in from the lower tiers of English football and gelled them into a decent side – the likes of Josh Windass and James Tavernier.

Rangers must invest in the January window in order to maintain their push on Celtic and ensure they finish above the challenging Aberdeen and Hearts, also they must ensure they have players who want to be at the club and fight for the club.

With that in mind, they should look to sell a couple of players and also look to bring in a couple to improve their squad.

They should bring these TWO in, and allow these TWO out of the club this January….

IN: JOSH MORRIS

The Scunthorpe midfielder has been flying for his side this year as they look to try and return to the Championship.

The English 25-year-old could be a great fit and continue the influx of English talent to come into Rangers during Mark Warburton’s tenure thus far.

At 25, he has a bit of experience and if he could take his form north of the border and into Glasgow, he could be a real hitter for the Gers.

OUT: MARTYN WAGHORN

The fan favourite has found himself out of favour thus far this season and hasn’t quite lived up to the standards that the Rangers fans came a custom to in the second tier last season.

For his and the club’s sake, they should look to move the former Sunderland man on with a move back to England probably being the best for the player.

IN: JASON CUMMINGS

The Hibernian striker is flying in the second division for Neil Lennon’s side, but the prospect of playing European football at Rangers next season could tempt him away from Easter Park and make the move up.

But it would be hard for Hibs to allow their star man to leave but at the same time, if the right offer came in for the 21-year-old, it may be hard for them to stop the move.

OUT: PHILIPPE SENDEROS

The former Arsenal and Villa defender has been so poor for Rangers since his summer arrival on a free transfer, and the Rangers faithful here at the Tavern would be grateful to see the back of him.
The veteran Swiss defender has had a torrid time of it, even getting sent off earlier in the season against rivals Celtic and a move away from the club could be best for both club and player – with his wages freed up, it could make signings more likely.
