The Chelsea fans are in the Transfer Tavern today in much better mood compared to this time last week.

The Blues beat Spurs 2-1 at Wembley, thanks to a Marcos Alonso brace.

Chelsea are a club that have not had the best of times during this summer’s window, missing out on key targets such as Romelu Lukaku.

Transfers aside, it hasn’t been the best of starts for Antonio Conte’s side so far this season.

A Community Shield final loss to rivals Arsenal and a shock opening day defeat to Sean Dyche’s Burnley at Stamford Bridge have Blues fans everywhere worried about their title defence already.

As far as loan deals go, it is rare for a club the size of Chelsea to be bringing in players on a temporary basis.

However, sending players out on loan is something the current Premier League champions know plenty about.

With that being said, here are two loan deals Chelsea should get sorted before the transfer window shuts.

Kenedy

Reports have been circulating recently linking Chelsea’s Brazilian youngster Robert Kenedy with a loan move to newly promoted Newcastle.

This deal would be beneficial for Chelsea for two reasons.

The 21-year-old was sent home from the club’s pre-season tour of China following offensive messages about the country on his Instagram page.

Some time away from the club may help people to forget about that whole saga.

Another reason is that Kenedy is a young player with a lot of potential and after his injury laden loan spell at Watford last season, that potential is still untapped.

A season playing under a veteran manager like Rafa Benitez could be very beneficial to the player and his parent club.

Diego Costa

The Diego Costa transfer saga has been going on seemingly ever since Chelsea lifted the Premier League trophy at the conclusion of the 2016/17 campaign.

At this point, it seems like the striker only wants to return to his former club Athletico Madrid but with the Spanish side’s current transfer embargo that won’t be a deal that can happen until January of next year.

Conte has made it clear that Costa has no future at the club so perhaps a short loan deal to another club until Madrid could complete his signing would be beneficial for both parties.
