2 Middlesbrough players fans surely cannot wait to see axed this summer

Our Middlesbrough fans here at the Tavern would give anything for the season to end now as they sit just one point off of the drop with a long way to go.

The Boro have won just 4 out of the 25 games played, their most recent, a 3-0 win against Swansea back in December. Their goal for the season is simple, to retain their Premier League status.

However, this task appears increasingly more difficult for Aitor Karanka’s men and at the end of the season our landlord thinks the Spaniard is going to give certain players their marching orders.

It’s been a frustrating season for the team on Teesside, drawing 10 of their games, and our fans in the Tavern would feel that some players would be better off leaving the club at the end of the season.

With that in mind let’s take a look at two players that Middlesbrough fans would love to see go in the summer transfer window….

Gastón Ramírez

One player that Boro fans would happily show the exit door to is Gastón Ramirez. The Uruguayan international handed in his transfer request to Karanka last month and was on the cards to join up with Premier League champions Leicester.

Boro fans at the Tavern don’t regard him in the same light after his request, questioning his loyalty to the club. They would welcome offers from other clubs unless the 26-year-old were to apologise both off and on the pitch.

Jordan Rhodes

Although signing from Blackburn last year for a reported £9m, Jordan Rhodes could depart from the Riverside Stadium this summer after being sent out on loan to Sheffield Wednesday in January.

He may have been a key part of their promotion triumph last season but this year has failed to find the net with Boro after six games. The fans at the bar wouldn’t mind seeing him leave though they are nowhere near as against him as they are with Ramirez.

Boro fans, tell us who you think Karanka should let go of in the summer!
