Our Arsenal fans here in the Transfer Tavern are expecting their side to redeem themselves this weekend as they host Hull City at the Emirates.

The Gunners have had a poor time of it of late with them seeing their title hopes go up in smoke in a matter of days.

After inexplicably losing at home to Watford the Gunners then went to Chelsea where many felt they had to win in order to remain in the chase.

They couldn’t manage it, as usual, though, and now it looks like a race for the top four is the best they can hope for this season.

Indeed, our landlord reckons it’s time for Arsene Wenger to shake things up in terms of his line-up and it appears that could happen according to The Daily Star.

They reckon Petr Cech could be dropped for the game against the Tigers and our landlord thinks these two reasons suggest why that might not be such a bad idea…

 Mistakes creeping in

Cech has been brilliant in the Premier League but this season he has started to show real signs of decline.

Forever a reliable stopper between the sticks he made a high-profile and uncharacteristic mistake against Chelsea to gift-wrap a goal for Cesc Fabregas – killing the game as a contest. It could be time for him to come out of the side, then, and allow him to assess where it’s beginning to go wrong.

 David Ospina isn’t that bad

What’s the point in having a back-up ‘keeper if you’re not going to use him?

Indeed, Ospina has shown himself to be a decent if not world class stopper at times this season and so Wenger should have no real reservations about playing him against Hull City. The South American will be keen to take his chance, too, and so a good performance should be expected from him.
