2 things that will decide Chelsea v Burnley on Saturday

The Chelsea and Burnley fans down in the Transfer Tavern are already mocking each other ahead of Sunday’s opening day fixture.

It’s a big weekend for the sides, both of whom want to set a positive tone for the rest of the season.

Last year also saw the two teams meet in August. Antonio Conte picked up his third straight Premier League win in a 3-0 home victory over Sean Dyche’s side. The Clarets were poor on that day, even failing to register one shot on target.

Both teams have made a number of changes to their starting XI’s, but most are expecting a similar outcome.

If Chelsea play to their potential, we can expect Conte’s side to run out comfortable winners. But Dyche will have a few tricks up his sleeve in order to keep the Blues at bay.

Take a look at the TWO things that will decide Chelsea vs Burnley…

 BLUES TAKING THEIR CHANCES

With the Stamford Bridge crowd behind them and the superior personnel, Chelsea will create chances on Sunday – it’s just a matter of taking them.

It will be interesting to see whether it’s Morata or Batshuayi who start up front. The former will be desperate to impress after his Community Shield penalty miss, but Batshuayi is in good form.

Either way, goals will win the game, and if Chelsea are on form in front of goal – they will bag a win.

 BURNLEY RESILIENCE

Last season Eden Hazard set the Blues on their way to victory with a sensational solo effort after just nine minutes. It’s important Burnley do not fall behind early and allow the Blues and Stamford Bridge to settle.

The Clarets won’t have their fair share of possession. Dyche’s side need to keep it tight at the back and counter with quality.

Their defence is strong, but there are certainly question marks over whether they are up to the task against Chelsea.
