The Chelsea fans at the Transfer Tavern aren’t happy about United’s Lukaku swipe and are now looking elsewhere for a replacement for Costa.

It is looking more and more likely that Diego Costa is on his way out of Stamford Bridge, despite the fact that Conte’s main transfer target, Romelu Lukaku snubbed the Premier League champions preferring a move to Manchester United.

With AC Milan and Atletico Madrid looking like the front runners for the Spaniard’s signature, Conte has reportedly slapped a £60 million price tag on the player.

There isn’t much that can be done to improve the Chelsea squad, obviously a new striker will need to be brought in to replace the departing Costa but where else could the money be spent to improve the champions’ squad?

Defensively they’re sound, their midfield is one of the best in the league and they have one of the best keepers in the world.

Alvaro Morata

Chelsea will need a new striker and this one seems the most likely.

For weeks now it has been Lukaku to Chelsea and Morata to United, so with United having signed the Belgian striker, perhaps Morata will swap sides too.

Not quite the same playing style as Costa and Lukaku, Morata is still a massive threat in the box, good in the air and has a tidy finish.

Maybe not their number one choice, but still a great buy if they can get him.

Tiemoue Bakayoko

Tiemoue Bakayoko seems destined to be another player that Manchester United sweep away from under Chelsea’s feet.

The Monaco defensive midfielder has been linked with Chelsea for some time now and if they do manage to sell Costa, they should be able to outbid the likes of United, it all comes down to how big of a target Conte sees him as.

Conte seemingly doesn’t want Matic in the side so Bakayoko would be the perfect replacement.
