Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have struggled to hide their disappointment following the goalless draw with Manchester City last night, which ensured the Red Devils remain behind their city rivals in the Premier League standings.
After what’s been a largely disappointing campaign in the league this season, Jose Mourinho is preparing for another major upheaval in his squad this summer and his attacking ranks will once again be the focus of his summer business.
Following an injury to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, which could see the end of the veteran striker at Old Trafford, and consistent links suggesting captain Wayne Rooney will leave this summer, Mourinho is eyeing two big-name replacements.
The Telegraph reports Mourinho is looking to raid La Liga for two top-class strikers, as the Portuguese boss seeks to land Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid and Alvaro Morata from former employers Real Madrid.
Morata is seen as the ideal candidate to lead United’s attacking line, whilst Griezmann would play slightly deeper and could create a deadly partnership with close-friend Paul Pogba.
However, our landlord is struggling to see where all these attacking signings will fit-in at Old Trafford and he’s concerned what it would mean for youngsters Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford.
