North London is currently white and the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are not too happy about it.

With local rivals, Tottenham Hotspur charging to a 2-0 victory in the North London Derby last weekend – many of the ‘Wenger Out’ brigade have reappeared in the Tavern after a quiet week following Arsenal’s progression to the FA Cup final the week before and, whilst Arsene Wenger has kept coy over his future at the club, many expect him to sign a new contract once the season is finished.

It is a move that our landlord is neither here nor there about and can see both sides to the argument over whether Wenger should leave or stay at the Emirates but he knows one thing for certain and that is that the Gunners must bounce back in Sunday’s game with Manchester United if they are to maintain their outside chances of making the top four this season.

Our landlord has also noted that Wenger has a terrible record against United boss, Jose Mourinho and predicts some fireworks between the two managers following numerous jibes they have had at each other in the past. The two sides actually drew 1-1 at Old Trafford earlier in the season with an 89th minute Olivier Giroud header cancelling out Juan Mata’s opener for the hosts. The draw meant Wenger still has not beaten Mourinho in the Premier League but our landlord believes this could change if the Frenchman picks the XI he has pinned on the wall of the Transfer Tavern.

GK: Petr Cech

Was kept busy last weekend against Spurs and responded brilliantly with many top class saves, our landlord believes it could be a similar weekend for Cech against United on Sunday.

The Czech goalkeeper will look to get one over his former boss, Jose Mourinho, although there is still gratitude from Cech for the former Chelsea boss allowing him to move to the Gunners in 2015.

CB: Rob Holding

When Gabriel bought down Harry Kane last weekend to condemn Arsenal to defeat in the North London Derby, many Gunners in the Tavern demanded the head of the Brazilian centre back with many deeming him a liability.

Therefore, our landlord believes Wenger should place his trust in Rob Holidng who did so brilliantly the week before against Manchester City at Wembley.

CB: Laurent Koscielny

Our landlord believes Koscielny is one of the more talented Premier League defenders and notes that the Frenchman will have to use all his experience against the Red Devils’ Marcus Rashford on Sunday.

Arsenal really need their captain in this one and a huge defensive performance from Koscielny won’t go amiss against United.

CB: Nacho Monreal

Possessing the ability to play at either left centre back or left wing back, Wenger’s transition to 3-4-2-1 as really benefited the versatile Monreal this season.

The Spaniard has arguably been Arsenal’s best player in recent weeks and the Gunners in the Tavern are hoping for another good performance from him.

RWB: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Arsenal’s player of the month has looked very comfortable in his new role at right wing back and has really shown the talent that many have expected from him from a young age.

A real athlete and a strong runner, there are many qualities that will see Oxlade-Chamberlain be a thorn in United’s side come Sunday.

CM: Aaron Ramsey

It’s safe to say that Ramsey hasn’t backed up his strong Euro 2016 campaign this season which has seen a lot of Gunners fans frustrated with the Welshman.

Our landlord has actually jumped to the aid of Ramsey and he has stated that it can’t be easy for a player who has found himself in many different positions for his side this season.

CM: Francis Coquelin

With Granit Xhaka injured, this is surely a chance for Coquelin to regain his place in the Arsenal XI for the rest of the season.

The Frenchman’s rashness is something that worries Arsenal fans in the Tavern and they’ll be hoping he can curb his aggression and not pick up a stupid booking in such a big game.

LWB: Kieran Gibbs

A real loyal member of Arsenal’s squad, Gibbs should see himself at left wing back in a massive game for Arsenal’s season.

Being a local lad, Gibbs knows the Gunners’ rivalry with United better than most and will ensure he plays with fire in his belly for this one.

CAM: Mesut Özil

Hit the headlines after the North London derby for putting his studs through a door at White Hart Lane, will Özil channel last weekend into a match winning performance this weekend?

Our landlord knows the German has the talent to unlock United’s defence but notes that Özil hasn’t quite been at the races in recent weeks.
