Chelsea have impressed our landlord here at the Tavern with yet another victory this past Sunday against high-flying West Brom, now they face the side propping up the table Sunderland.
The Blues are very much in charge at the moment, but with Arsenal and Liverpool creeping up on them, games like this they must win.
Their next opposition is Sunderland, who have been having a torrid time of it in the Premier League so far this season.
The prospect of Chelsea this Wednesday it doesn’t seem to be getting any better for the Black Cats anytime soon, considering the fact they once again slipped to the bottom of the table.
Consistency in team selection has been the key for Antonio Conte so far this season which we feel will remain the biggest asset in Chelsea’s title push.
With that in mind, this Chelsea XI will dominate Sunderland on Wednesday.
GK:THIBAUT COURTOIS

The Belgian shot stopper has been reliable for theBblues so far this season, despite making a nervous start to the campaign.
The 24-year-old has finally brought the form of his Atletico Madrid days back.
CB:DAVID LUIZ

The former PSG man has really come good after his shock return to the bridge in the summer.
The now more experienced defender seems to have taken all the silly nonsense he had before out of his game. He will be vital in Chelsea’s title surge.
CB: GARY CAHILL

Cahill hasn’t had the best of seasons so far, he’s finally picking up his game after an underwhelming start to the campaign.
He has rather big boots to fill with it looking like he’s the replacement for the legend John Terry, who hasn’t featured much this season with injuries and for fitness issues.
CB: CESAR AZPILICUETA

You can’t name a Chelsea team without this guy in the side, a real fan favorite and all round solid performer.
Why change something that’s working so well?
RWB: VICTOR MOSES

The Nigerian winger has been superb under Conte in his new position and has been a revelation under Conte.
Our regulars here in the Tavern spoke to the landlord about Moses prior to the new season and thought he was foolish to have stayed with Chelsean…how wrong we all were!
LWB: MARCOS ALONSO

When he first arrived from Fiorentina, many were surprised and thought he’d be a squad filler.
However with his brilliant performances as well as how well he has fit into the new system under Conte very well and looks to be a great investment.
CDM:N’GOLO KANTE

A standout player last season and struggling a little after the start of the campaign, but like his side, Kante has forgotten about that.
The French international is still spoken about by his former employers and how much they miss him and with the way hes adapted to life at Chelsea, it is easy to see why!
CDM: NEMANJA MATIC

The Serb has brought back the form of two years ago that won him a number of plaudits. The experienced midfielder has had a good run in the side under Conte and his new system.
With consistency being key for Conte we see no reason why he’ll change that for the Sunderland game.
LW: EDEN HAZARD

The player that many people were looking for last season has finally decided to appear this season and what an impressive campaign he is having so far.
Conte has surprised many with how well his Chelsea side is doing, considering not many changes were really made after their dismal season last term.
Hazard is a prime example of the resurgence under Conte.
RW:PEDRO

Under Conte, Pedro like many, has turned it around and has been superb and a key player that the Italian has come to rely on.
Really looking like the man who picked up so many awards during his stint with Barcelona and a palpable goal threat, even from wide areas.
ST:DIEGO COSTA

What an incredible season this man is having as he bids to fire the Blues to a second Premier League title in three years.
The Spaniard has dropped all the nonsense and is chipping with a lorry load of both goals and assists in equal measure, as well as chipping in defensively.
Really looking like the forward who first arrived from Atletico Madrid.
