3 Bundesliga gems Rangers should really look to sign in January

The Football Transfer Tavern was rocked after the last Old Firm Derby, which has shown everyone that Rangers still have a bit of work to do if they are to catch up with Celtic and become the best team in Scotland.

The transformation was never going to happen overnight and so the blue side of Glasgow will always be looking to see what will happen in the next transfer window to help the club move further forward.

The Gers often look to English football for their new recruits, however, they could possibly be better off looking at alternatives, such as the Bundesliga, as there are a lot of talented players in the league that could be acquired for a cheaper price.

The landlord has had a think and has come up with THREE Bundesliga players that he thinks Rangers should move for.

Do you agree with these picks and who do you think Rangers should be trying to sign? Let us know.

Julian Green

There is no way that they would be able to get him on a permanent deal, but it could be well worth putting in a loan offer for one of Bayern’s most exciting youngsters.

The forward has never played a league game for the Bavarians and hasn’t gone om loan, so there could be an opportunity for Rangers to move in and get him on loan until the rest of the season.

Green has already played and scored for the United States national team and would certainly be able to do well in Scotland.

Albin Ekdal

Ekdal is a midfielder who has been at Juventus and Bologna and is now at Hamburg, where he has been since 2015.

He has represented Sweden 25 times and with his experience, he would be very helpful when it comes to bringing through exciting players such as Josh Windass.

Alexander Ring

Alexander Ring has had times where he has struggled to stay in the team at Kaiserslautern, but has often impressed when he has played for them.

He is a Finnish international and has played 37 times for his country, scoring in a 3-0 win against Luxembourg.

There have been some troubles with Joey Barton, so bringing in Ring could give Rangers a reliable player who would push the combative midfielder.
