3 Chelsea transfer priorities that Conte simply must focus on this summer (not Terry)

Share

Chelsea have been flying in the Premier League all season and you’ll be hard-pressed to find many supporters who don’t think Antonio Conte’s men will win the title when May rolls around!

The Blues have shot to the summit in the top-flight, widely thanks to some poor form being shown by their rivals, and they’ve stayed there too.

Their fans here in the Tavern have been very pleased with what they’ve seen home and away from Stamford Bridge all campaign and the future is looking bright under their Italian boss.

But with the summer fast approaching, there’s plenty to focus on at Stamford Bridge away from the pitch, specifically when it comes to transfers.

Blues fans want more new additions and the future’s of some current stars resolved and it must be a priority for Conte to do just that.

So with that in mind, here’s 3 Chelsea transfer priorities that Conte simply must focus on this summer, away from John Terry…

Rotational Players

There’s little doubt Chelsea have been absolutely superb at times this season but they’ve been relying on the same names all-season.

The likes of Michy Batshuayi, Ola Aina, Nathan Ake and Nathanial Chalobah are all considered “first-teamers” but going forward, are they seriously going to be the sorts of players to dislodge the likes of Costa, Moses and Kante in the first-team?

Perhaps not, and if so, Chelsea fans think they should be bringing in some bigger names instead.

Reduce the Loan Army

It’s common knowledge that Chelsea have one of the highest numbers of loan players playing away from the club in the whole of world football.

Over 36 individuals are playing their football all-around the world and it’s blatantly obvious, especially to certain supporters here in the pub, that over half of them aren’t going to have a future at Stamford Bridge.

Antonio Conte needs to seriously start wielding the axe on these sorts of names if Chelsea are going to free up budgets this summer. It’s a problem that is seriously beginning to escalate.

Diego Costa

He’s the man everyone loves to hate and arguably the most popular player in the Blues end of the pub but Diego Costa’s long-term future at Stamford Bridge needs to be resolved.

He’s the kingpin of the forward line and a real bully that everyone loves to get on the wrong side of. But for Chelsea and the way they play, he’s an important cog in their striking arsenal.

But there’s going to be interest in him this summer and Chelsea need to tie him down.
