The bar in the Football Transfer Tavern has been the home of many an argument over the last few weeks, centring around the topic of who have been the best players at the Euros in France and which ones will be making their way to the Premier League.

West Ham surpassed expectations last season under Slaven Bilic, finishing in seventh place, and even making their way into the Europa League.

Now the transfer window is upon us, and The Hammers will be keen to bolster their squad to ensure there is enough depth and quality to compete in all four competitions.

Superstar Payet is showing no signs of slowing down, after an exceptionally impressive season, he is now a favourite to win the Euro 2016 golden boot, as he goes into the semi-final against Germany on Thursday.

Bilic will be delighted seeing his attacking midfielder put in such performances, but perhaps there are a few other reasons the West Ham manager will have his eyes closely fixed on this weeks Semi-Finals.

Joe Allen

The ‘Welsh Xavi’ is what Brendan Rodgers once labelled Joe Allen. Now most people laughed, made fun, and that perhaps that has hurt Allen’s time at Liverpool.

But as Farage recently said in the European Parliament ‘who is laughing now’. Allen has been a central figure in the Wales team, and has played a key role in helping Wales reaching the Semi-finals.

According to the Daily Star, West Ham are one of several teams interested in the Semi-finalist alongside West Brom and Swansea. With Klopp reportedly valuing Allen at £14 million, the Hammers might be one of the few clubs financially willing to meet Liverpool’s price tag.

Rafa Silva

Linked with West Ham earlier in the year, the Braga winger has been of interest to several Premier League clubs after scoring 8 goals in the league last year and 12 overall.

Racking up appearances for Portugal at various levels, the 23-year-old was taken to the 2014 World Cup and to Euro 2016.

He would be a real coup for the Hammers, with Europa League experience under his belt, and reportedly has a £15.3 million release clause making him an absolute steal with so much experience at such a young age.

Mario Gomez

63 goals for Stuttgart. 75 for Bayern Munich. 29 for the German national team.

Mario Gomez’s record speaks for itself, and he is showing once more that he can still deliver on the big stage, scoring 2 at the Euro’s so far, and was one of the Germans top players before picking up an injury in the quarter final.

The fact then that West Ham have been linked with the striker over the last few days has been no shock. The Express have reported The Hammers are battling out with Besiktas for the signature of the 30-year-old.

At £4 million, no wonder Bilic is looking to bring the Fiorentina man to the Olympic Stadium.
