The Bhoys had a very busy summer under new boss Brendan Rodgers, bringing in experience as well as youth players to balance out a side set to compete in the Champions League.
With European football this term we may well see a few of the younger players featuring in the league, as well as seeing names on the bench due to the fact you don’t have to register players under a certain age.
With injuries it could mean that Mr Rodgers may have to look at some of those players.
So having said that, here are THREE Celtic hidden gems that you may well not of heard much about, but are worth looking out for…..
Jack Aitchinson
The 16-year-old striker made his first team debut from the bench in Celtic’s 7-0 victory over Motherwell on the final day of last term.
He is also the youngest player to feature for the Bhoys.
With that being said, he has featured mostly for the reserve team the Celtic Colts, but at such a young age and with such a level head, this name could be one to watch in the future of Scottish football.
Kristoffer Ajer
The 18-year old central-midfielder has had quite the career in his native Norway.
The Norwegian agreed the transfer to Celtic whilst Ronny Deila was still in charge, and so therefore there has not been much of a mention of him, but Ajer has an experienced head on young shoulders, and could get a run in under Rodgers.
100% one to watch at Celtic Park.
Jamie McCart
In recent times there has been a question about the back four at Celtic; which led to the arrival of Kolo Toure for experience, but Rodgers has also looked at players in their developmental squad and even named McCart in the first team.
He impressed Rodgers during his time playing for the Colts, against the developmental side of Manchester United.
The centre-back has even featured off the bench this term.
When times are desperate sometimes you have to look for a different solution, could this young man be the answer to Brendan defensive woes?
