Chelsea will hope to re-invigorate their season following two disappointing results as they take on reigning Champions Leicester City in the League Cup tonight.

The Blues travel to the King Power Stadium off of the back of the weekend’s humbling defeat to Liverpool and a hard-fought 2-2 draw at Swansea only the week before.

Antonio Conte’s new side had been in fine form before the trip to the Liberty Stadium just under a fortnight ago, having had won all four games in all competitions all season.

The poor run of form has led some of Chelsea fans here at the Tavern to question as to whether all those in the squad are capable of delivering a title challenge – especially considering the squad is much unchanged from the one of last season that finished a lowly 10th place.

With a sizeable amount of money spent on new players this summer too, it begs the question as to why the club haven’t let go of these THREE sooner, do you agree?

Rumours have it that the Belgian keeper is looking for a move back to Spain in the next transfer window, with Real Madrid being his preferred destination.

Well, if he wants to go so much, I say let him.

Quite frankly the former Atletico loanee has been below par over the past 18 months, looking sloppy between the sticks and too casual with his distribution.

Petr Cech come home?

Nemanja Matic

Maybe a scapegoat of last season, but Matic certainly doesn’t done anything to help his cause so far this campaign.

The Serbian looks outclassed by new man N’Golo Kante and looks sluggish in the middle of the park, offering very little going either forward or backwards.

Any Chelsea fan would prefer to have Cesc Fabregas – or hell, even Ruben Loftus-Cheek – in that role.

Pedro

Undoubtedly a talented player, but Pedro’s move to Stamford Bridge was destined to fail from the start.

In his heyday unstoppable, but that day was 5 years ago, and rushing to a late deal simply to block United making a move for the once Barcelona star isn’t the reason to sign a new player, regardless how much they may have felt his calibre was suitable for the club.
