Mauricio Pochettino has a growing reputation of developing young and talented footballers and our landlord wouldn’t be surprised to see the Spurs boss make a few more youthful acquisitions in the January transfer window.

Our resident Spurs fans at the Transfer Tavern also back Poch in the transfer market and know that any player with the Argentinian’s seal of approval is a serious talent for the White Hart Lane outfit.

Poch’s young charges have put Man City and Chelsea to the sword this season and will be looking to kick on over the coming months.

And, with Spurs well in the title race at present, the onus will be on any January signings to propel the north London club into a solid and potentially victorious position come the end of the season.

With all that said, here are three relatively unknown players that may well be on their way to Tottenham this January, courtesy of our landlord…

Marc Cucurella

A product of the highly prestigious Barcelona academy, Cucurella could well be on his way to Spurs in the near future – according to Spanish print outlet Sport via The Sun.

The 18-year-old, Spanish left back is still with the Catalan club but with his contract expiring in the summer and Cucurella showing no signs of signing a new deal, Barca may look to cash in on the youngster.

It won’t be plain sailing for Spurs as Chelsea too are reportedly interested and the last thing our resident Spurs fans want is another Willian situation.

Sandro Ramirez

Another product of the Barcelona academy, Ramirez has been a target for Spurs since last January as the club reportedly inquired about him then and in the summer (according to the print version of The Sunday People – via The Mirror.)

The 21-year-old has been in good form for Malaga this season and our La Liga followers in the Transfer Tavern believe that Ramirez would be a good fit at Spurs who are looking for a back-up for Harry Kane following the disappointment of summer signing, Vincent Janssen.

Max Meyer

A player not so well known in England, our resident Bundesliga fans are all too familiar with this man.

The young German is just the latest in a long line of bright prospects and would almost definitely be a hit with Spurs. Regarded as a huge talent in Germany, Meyer may well benefit from leaving Gelsenkirchen and playing under a manager such as Pochettino, a coach known for developing talented footballers.
