The Gers have recruited seven players already this Summer, most of whom are relatively unknown, yet it has demonstrated Caixinha’s willingness to strengthen his squad. The 46-year-old has found a suitable balance between experience and youth in his recruitment policy so far, and the incomings are surely bound to carry on.
Rangers’ willingness to recruit heavily derives from the gulf in class that exists between them and fierce rivals Celtic. 39 points separated Rangers and Celtic last year, as Brendan Rodgers’ side completed an invincible season. This is considered to be an unacceptable total by the Rangers hierarchy, as the Gers prepare to reduce that deficit this forthcoming season.

Chuba Akpom
The Arsenal youngster has struggled for continuity so far in his professional career; he has spent five periods away from his parent club on loan – the most productive of which came in the 2015-16 season where the Englishman scored seven goals in 42 games for Hull City. While a total of seven goals in 79 appearances isn’t particularly impressive for a striker, his talent is unequivocal – he just requires the right guidance and sufficient involvement.
He’s recognised for his superb dribbling skills and his remarkable ability to hold onto the ball. Moreover, he exhibits great desire to apply pressure on opponents with his terrific work rate. He could be Rangers’ ideal replacement for Joe Garner who has joined Ipswich Town.
Guillermo Varela
Another Premier League outcast that Caixinha should consider moving for is Manchester United’s, Varela. The 24-year-old has recently finished a disappointing loan spell at Bundesliga outfit Frankfurt, where he only made ten appearances. Two seasons prior Varela made 33 appearances for Real Madrid’s reserve team, Real Madrid Castilla in the Segunda División B. While his career hasn’t progressed as many of the Manchester United staff anticipated, Varela has featured on 11 occasions for the Red Devils.
His talent is unquestionable, with his intercepting and dribbling abilities being his key attributes. While other areas of his game do require improvement, he could thrive if entrusted with playing time in Glasgow.
Kevin Stewart
Liverpool’s 23-year-old midfielder is another player who could be of enormous benefit to Rangers this forthcoming season. He has made 19 appearances for Liverpool over the duration of the past two seasons, and at his age, he should be receiving consistent first-team minutes to ensure that he develops as expected.
He is renowned for his impressive passing and tackling ability, and his arrival would be a stellar coup for Rangers in their quest for domestic glory.
