Guidolin was a revelation last year for the Swans when he came to the Liberty Stadium to replace then boss Garry Monk.

However, he struggled this year – and the punters in the Football Transfer Tavern knew it was only a matter of time before he departed the Welsh club.

Perhaps more surprising than his dismissal was the fact that his successor was immediately announced to be Bob Bradley.

A relatively unknown name in the Tavern, Bradley is renowned on the other side of the Atlantic – and comes with a reputation for building successful teams.

The experienced manager wasn’t necessarily top of the list for all the Swansea punters here at the Tavern – but they’re prepared to give him a chance – and they think he could do well this year.

With that said, here are THREE reasons why Bob Bradley will be a revelation at Swansea…

The USA Effect

When Bradley became coach of the USMNT, football was not a very big deal in America. It was largely considered a secondary or tertiary sport – and Bradley made it feel much more significant.

He brought his own brand of ‘soccer’ along with him, and he transformed the USMNT into a key staple of American culture.

The Swansea fans in the Tavern think that he will be able to do the exact same in Wales. Swansea have been a club on the rise in recent years – and they are hoping that Bradley can use his experience of building a club from the bottom back up; and he can turn Swansea into the side that everyone in the Tavern knows they can be.

Dealing with Pressure

Following his departure from the USMNT, Bradley took over the reigns with the Egyptian national team – and he brought his unique style of management with him.

Fast forward several years, and Egypt are one of the most successful African sides of the modern era – and much of that is down to Bradley.

That role proved to be somewhat of a pressure cooker for Bradley – and he was given the job with a host of expectation and faith upon his shoulders – and he coped very well.

He took over the role during a time of crisis in the country; and dealt magnificently.

Pressure is something that he will have to get used to at Swansea – with the Swans brass no doubt dreaming of a top half finish this season.

Can Bradley handle it? Past experience says that he absolutely will.

Man Management

Bob Bradley is well known for his ability to manage players really well and forge quite the lasting relationship, which was a key factor behind the appointment of the American.

The Swansea City chairman described Bradley’s appointing as a “long-term” solution before suggesting  that he hopes that he can “stabilise matters on and off the pitch” – a definite show of faith from the chairman.

The new gaffer will hopefully be able to create a better harmony amongst the players which will be absolutely necessary as the Swans battle relegation this season.
