Indeed, our resident Hoops believe a nice and easy domestic win is the perfect remedy to their Champions League thumping at the hands of PSG, though becoming more competitive in with the European elite is obviously a priority.

With that in mind, our punters clad in green and white are discussing the kind of players who could be brought in to do exactly that. Celtic’s recent business in the transfer market has been something to shout about, with the likes of Moussa Dembele and Olivier Ntcham looking genuine coups for Brendan Rodgers.

So, Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere should be of interest to the Celtic boss. Indeed, the England international is out of contract next summer and able to discuss a move north of the border in January.

Rodgers likes his team to play an attacking brand of football, a style in which Wilshere can flourish. Operating as either a deep-lying playmaker of a No.10, the 25-year-old could become the Bhoys’ heartbeat.

Wilshere has played in the Champions League for most of his career, an asset that could obviously really help Celtic.

Sometimes, the Hoops can look naive in big European fixtures, so being able to call on someone who has a huge amount of experience there would be a major boost for the club.
