Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern this week are discussing why Danny Rose would be silly to snub them in favour for a move up North.

Having been heavily linked with a move to Man United this summer the Tottenham left back looked destined to be on his way out of White Heart Lane, despite not playing for the majority of the year due to an knee injury he picked up in January against Sunderland.

The England international was fined and forced to give a public apology over the summer after he criticised the club in an interview which our punters were in full favour of, since then he remains on the side lines although he’s due back to training this week.

Indeed, the reports also suggest he’d be prepared to SNUB Chelsea in order to move to up to Old Trafford.

Change of position

Danny Rose is a left back by trade but under Conte he would be used as a left wing back due to the Chelsea boss’ favoured 3-5-2 formation. Using his pace and attacking ability, Rose would thrive in this role and completely change his game for the good.

Rose made no bones about the fact he wants to earn more money despite just signing a new contract with Spurs only last year. While United aren’t shy on the money front you can see Chelsea pulling out all the stops to get one over on their London rivals.

The fact he could potentially earn anything he demanded to in a United-Chelsea tussle would be a big draw for Rose.

While United have won a three cups in the past two years, Chelsea are current Premier League Champions and having won it twice in the past three years proves their quality.

Rose wants to win and challenge for trophies and with either side he’ll definitely be pushing for that, but Chelsea have done it and got themselves a winning squad while United are still looking for that holy grail once again since Ferguson left.
