The Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are growing more concerned about the lack of a replacement for Diego Costa, should he go.

Andrea Belotti has burst onto the scene over the last year following on from some very impressive performances all season long for Torino in Serie A.

However, despite his good performances, Torino finished ninth in the league and with rumours linking him to current Premier League champions, Chelsea, it is easy to see why the forward could be tempted to leave Italy.

Everyone here in the Tavern is pretty much certain that Diego Costa will be leaving Stamford Bridge and after Lukaku snubbed a return to Chelsea in favour of joining Man United, Conte is in desperate need of a man to replace Costa if he does go.

Chelsea have been linked with Alvaro Morata from Madrid and more recently, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund but Conte shouldn’t pass up on Belotti too quickly or he may live to regret it.

On that note, here are three stats that prove why Belotti would be an amazing signing for Chelsea…

Goals

Any striker considered to be the main man at Chelsea will need to be able to score goals, and plenty of them.

That is exactly what Belotti can do, he managed 26 goals in the league last season and given that he is only 23-years-old, there will surely be plenty more where that came from.

Considering that Italian football is known for its tight defences, perhaps Belotti could manage even more than 26 goals for Chelsea next season, should they sign him.

Assists too

Belotti doesn’t just have goals in his locker, he has plenty of assists too.

To go along with his 26 goals in the league last season, Belotti managed eight assists, taking his total goal contribution to 34 goals in 35 games.

Assists only take into account the chances taken too, obviously he created more than eight chances for his team mates all season and with players like Hazard and Pedro either side of him, that number could rise dramatically should he sign for The Blues.

His price

Out of the three top strikers Chelsea have been linked with, it is likely that Belotti will cost the Premier League champions the least amount of money.

Morata has already been priced at around £80 million by Real Madrid and Aubameyang has a £70 million price tag on him.

Despite setting an £90 million price tag, it is likely that Torino could be reasoned with regarding the deal and that Belotti will set Chelsea back roughly £60 million given he still has four years left on his contract and given he had such a great season during the 2016/17 campaign.

Madrid and Dortmund already have plenty of money, Torino may want to cash in on him whilst they can and our landlord thinks £60 million would be a fair price.
