3 things Brendan Rodgers is getting right at Celtic so far this season – Agreed?

The landlord here in the Transfer Tavern likes to keep all our punters up to date with all things football from around the globe.

The landlord has decided to take a closer look at Scottish giants Celtic.

In particular we here at the Transfer Tavern want to take a look at what their gaffer Brendan Rodgers has done right so far in Glasgow.

The Northern Irish manager took over this summer and it got the fans excited about the future of club and what it beholds.

Our landlord here at the Transfer Tavern is very keen on Rodgers and our bar staff want only good things for him.

It’s been a bit of a roller-coaster ride so far for the former Liverpool and Swansea City man. However we feel that he has got these THREE things right so far at Celtic Park…..

Focusing on the Champions League

It has been a little while since the hoops were last involved in the big time in Europe, and although it got off to a dismal start against Barcelona; it is still a key factor for the club of their magnitude to be involved in the competition itself.

Former number one Ronny Deila didn’t make the cut in terms of European football which ultimately led to his demise at the club.

However Rodgers has focused on making sure the club reached the group stages, and despite having a very tough group, it is still what the fans are so hungry for.

Bringing in Moussa Dembele

His performances would be a valid enough point to make this a key factor as to why this is a good thing that Rodgers has done, however that’s not the main focus of this point.

The reason this was such a good bit of business was due to the large amount of clubs around Europe that wanted his signature, that is the victory here.

It’s been a while since a player with the amount of potential that Dembele has, has actually chose the option of moving to Scotland over the likes of Juventus, Chelsea and PSG.

A coup by the Celtic boss that has also really paid off on the pitch.

Mixing the team up each game

rodgerscelticIt was well known that Deila relied very much on the likes of Scott Brown and Craig Gordon, however we have seen a lot of changes under Brendan Rodgers and it has paid off.

With the likes of De Vries being given a chance at the highest level, although he has a poor match at Barcelona he has otherwise been a good signing.

The players Rodgers has brought in have mixed in well and also taken over some of the players who were set in stone to start under previous managers.

Another player that is key to this is the Nigerian centre-back Efe Ambrose who has always been below the standard of a club like Celtic, yet Deila always relied heavily on him at the back.

The likes of Kolo Toure, Moussa Dembele and Scott Sinclair have made a brilliant impact since their arrival.

Celtic fans, we want to hear from you… Happy with life under Rodgers? Excited about Champions League football? Let us know below in the comments!
