This coming weekend brings the long awaited arrival of the first round of games in the Premier League, here in The Football Transfer Tavern the punters cannot wait to see the first Monday Night Football of the season; a huge London derby.

Fans at Stamford Bridge will see Antonio Conte, The Italian who brought the best out of a mediocre Italian side in the Euros, and his Chelsea side take on Slaven Bilic, the magician who brought the Hammers faithful one of their best seasons in recent times, and West Ham.

So with this show down to take place…what’s new to look out for ? We had the bar been set for the Irons this season ? Will the Blues get back into the heights of the top 4?

Chelsea’s Young Full Back

This pre-season we have witnessed the fall from the first team for the experienced right back, Branislav Ivanovic who has been userped by Ola Aina an exciting young full back who has had a few spells away out on loan from the Bridge.

The 19-year-old has shown qualities of an established full back against the likes of Liverpool and Werder Bremen in recent games.

Will he get the nod in the opener or will Conte refer back to the cult hero Serbian ? Watch this space

The impressive Algerian Winger

When West Ham managed to bring in the highly rated winger, Sofaine Feghouli, on a free from Valencia it set a sense of optimism of the transfer window ahead for the Hammers faithful.

With Italian club Inter Milan and Spanish outfit Sevilla expressing their interest in the star, who had an impressive stint in LA Liga as well as a good World Cup in Brazil, it really showed the intentions of the London club by making this acquisition.

He’s looked bright in both pre-season and the Europa League with trickery and the pandering to the fans with the COYI celebrations.

Eden Hazard of the 2014/15 season?

The Belgian set the Premier League alight in the 2014/15 season with Mourinho stating that he was better than Ronaldo! Since that comment he has never really lived up to the hype, last season was a poor showing for Chelsea and Hazard seemed to disappear with the amazing displays from Willian, who was the only one to really turn up for Blues last term.

That was until the game against Tottenham, which was more like a WWE Royal Rumble than a football match. In that match we saw Hazard come back to life and score a wonderful goal which lead to a strong Euro 2016.

ill the player of the year for 2015 turn up this season or will he simply play second fiddle under Conte? One thing is for sure, he will be one to watch against the Irons at the Bridge!
