The punters at the Football Transfer Tavern who support Chelsea are excited by the prospect of having Anotnio Conte as their manager.

After filling pubs to see his Italy side playing in Euro 2016 they are looking forward to doing the same as he manages their team. They are confident that he will be able to get the club back to the top where they feel Chelsea belongs.

The Blues have the likes of N’Golo Kante and Michy Batshuayi coming in and some exciting talents coming through in pre-season. The Tavern Landlord talks through what Chelsea supporters and the rest of the Premier League can expect from Antonio Conte’s side ahead of the new season.

Here are the THREE things our Landlord has come up with! Do you agree with the expectations and where do you think they will finish?

Strong Defence

Antonio Conte’s teams are always brilliant defensively as his Italy side showed at Euro 2016. With Thibaut Courtois in goal, John Terry leading the defence and the likes of Cesar Azpilicueta accompanying them, Chelsea will be a team that are very difficult to break down and score goals against.

As well as having these, the addition of N’Golo Kante will give the Chelsea back four even more cover to when they only had Matic.  Our punters are definitely having Chelsea defenders in their fantasy Premier League teams.

Goals

The attacking players at Chelsea didn’t have the best of seasons last year, with the likes of Eden Hazard going quiet. However this season should be completely different and if The Blues’ star men get back to their top form then there could be a lot of goals from Conte’s side.

If Cesc Fabregas can get back to creating chances in the way he did in his first season then this could help newcomer Michy Batshuayi and the other attackers to become regular features on the scoresheet. Chelsea will also be dangerous from free kicks with the likes of Willian in the squad.

Exciting Youngsters

This isn’t something that is always linked with Chelsea, but it seems as though Conte could be using some exciting young talent to help move the team forward. New signing Batshuayi is only 22-years-old and with the likes of Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Nathaniel Chalobah and Ola Aina impressing during pre season they may get a chance this season.

Bertrand Traore has already scored a few goals coming off in competitive games so he will also be looking to kick on with the club.
