If you’re a Spurs fan in the Transfer Tavern right now, you’re probably still getting over that Champions League defeat to Monaco on Wednesday night.
At a packed Wembley in front of over 80,000 fans, Spurs couldn’t do the business against Monaco and lost their first game of the Champions League group stages 2-1.
By no means was it an awful display but fans will be wanting more, starting with this weekend’s game against Sunderland in the Premier League.
Even the landlord here at the pub has tipped Mauricio Pochettino’s side to do well and everyone around here comes to him for betting tips!
Spurs are still unbeaten in the league and there are positives to take from their campaign this season, it’s just a case of building on some of the good work that we’ve seen.
So with that in mind, who has been the shining light in this Spurs squad so far this season? Who has the potential to be a game-changer when Spurs need them most?

Vincent Janssen
Vincent Janssen was a player who was brought in who many thought would be playing second fiddle to Harry Kane for most of the season.
But whilst Kane has had a stuttering start, the former AZ Alkmaar really has brought something different to this Spurs side.
He came on against Monaco and fashioned an excellent chance for Harry Kane and whilst he’s still yet to score for Spurs, he’s looking a handy player already.
Give him more time to settle in and most Spurs fans are sure he can get them firing.
Heung Min Son
Took his chance fantastically well when given a start against Stoke City last weekend, rewarding manager Mauricio Pochettino with two wonderfully taken goals.
Spurs tanked to victory over the Potters, eventually coming out as 4-0 winners and Son’s showing was a vital reminder that he can still play a big role in this team going forward.
He’s often overlooked in favour of the likes of Lamela and Eriksen but he’s a real luxury player to have at your disposal, especially if you’re in need of some creativity going forward.
A really useful player in this Spurs squad.
Dele Alli
It’s clear that Dele Alli will be the one to make things tick for Spurs again this season, despite not getting off to the best of starts.
The former MK Dons man has a big point to prove after a disappointing Euro 2016 campaign, and has looked a little lost in the Spurs midfield at times this season.
But when he gets close to Harry Kane and plays off him, he’s looked a real asset.
If playing him behind Kane is the answer then Pochettino should gamble.
He’s one of the best young players Spurs have had in years and he needs to be used effectively whilst he’s in the form of his career.
