The Spurs fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping their club can perform better in Europe this season after a disappointing campaign last term.
The Champions League returns to our TV screens next week with one of the highest profile games being Tottenham hosting the German giants Borussia Dortmund.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side had a poor run in the competition last year as they finished third in their group and crashed out into the Europa League.
They then lost on aggregate to Gent in the round of 32 in the competition to end their European campaign for the 2016/17 season.
Spurs have been drawn a tough hand with their group with Dortmund and Real Madrid in Group H with them.
Pochettino will want to get off to a winning start against Dortmund so will have to put forward a strong side.
On that note, here is the starting XI that Spurs need to go with to beat Borussia Dortmund…
GK – Hugo Lloris
The captain of the club and still a world class keeper.
Hugo Lloris will play a huge role in any potential successes that come Tottenham’s way this season and will definitely be needed to get a positive result against Dortmund.
LB – Ben Davies
Following the injury to Danny Rose, Ben Davies has finally gotten his chance in the Spurs first team.
He has played in every league game this season and looks set to nail down a spot in the first team for the season ahead.
CB – Toby Alderweireld

Serge Aurier recently completed his move to Spurs from PSG and our landlord thinks he will prove to be one of the signings of the summer.
Unlike Kieran Trippier, Aurier has plenty of Champions League experience and that can be put to good use against Dortmund.

He is a great box to box midfielder who can be utilised very well in both defence and attack.
He also offers a lot of danger from set-pieces which could prove to be the difference in what will be a close game.
