We here in the Transfer Tavern have admired the effort that Celtic have put into Europe this year under Brendan Rodgers, with the Glasgow-based locals propping up the bar often found toasting their new coach after a strong start to the season.
Having returned the Bhoys to the Champions League after a two-year absence, Parkhead plays host to some of the biggest ties in the competition once more.
Being drawn in the group of death was not what the faithful at Celtic Park would have wanted for their return to the Champions League, having been absent for the past few seasons and found themselves slacking even in the Europa League.
Still, under Rodgers the club have had that fighting spirit but have thus far come up short in the group; so with pride to play for against Barcelona this Wednesday, they could really cause a shock and once again beat them in Europe.
The Hoops were infamously battered 7-0 in the Camp Nou earlier this season, though hosting the Blaugrana in Glasgow is a completely different kettle of fish.
So with that in mind, if Rodgers opts to field this XI then Celtic could cause a shock this Wednesday night.

GK: CRAIG GORDON
The current Scotland No.1 had feared for his place when Dorus De Vries arrived from Nottingham Forest, but after a few dodgy displays from the Dutch keeper, Gordon found himself to be back as first-choice.
Will be tested.
RB: MIKAEL LUSTIG
The Swedish international has solidified his spot as first-choice right-back under Rodgers, becoming one of the early stalwarts of his tenure in charge of the Hoops.
He will have his work cut out coming up against the likes of Neymar and Messi, let’s hope he’s up to the task.
CB: KOLO TOURE
The veteran defender had a torrid game last time out in the Champions League against Borussia Monchengladbach but with his experience being vital against some of the world’s best players.
CB: ERIK SVIATCHENKO
Has largely looked excellent since Rodgers’ arrival and provides the aforementioned Ivorian with a mobile partner.
Still, a huge night is needed from him as the MSN come to town.
LB: Cristian Gamboa
Back in the side following a lengthy injury to the hugely promising Kieran Tierney, the Costa Rican will need to lean on his vast experience to keep up with Barcelona’s attacks.
Must get forward and try and pin the opposition back somewhat.
CDM: SCOTT BROWN
Ths captain will have to keep his anger in check as he faces up with the likes of Sergio Busquets and Javier Mascherano.
It makes for a tasty coming together of some very competitive players and you just know Scott Brown will relish that opportunity.
CDM: NIR BITTON
The 24-year-old midfielder has been a constant in the league and his tactical discipline will be absolutely vital to help ensure Celtic are not overrun by Barcelona’s attacks.
Needs to keep his cool.
LW: SCOTT SINCLAIR
From relegation with Aston Villa to Champions League football with Celtic, what a difference for the 27-year-old.
Rodgers got the best out of the winger in their time together at Swansea City in the Championship and now he’s doing the same with Celtic.
He could be vital in helping them beat Barcelona, using his searing pace to give the La Liga champions something to think about when pressing forward.
CAM: TOM ROGIC
The Australian has come out of his shell under Rodgers and looks a great player in the making.
Still only 23-years-old, he could have a bright future ahead at Celtic Park.
The Aussie will need to perform at his very best to break down the Barca defence.
RW: JAMES FORREST
He, like Rogic, has come good on the potential many knew he had under Rodgers.
He has become a regular under the new gaffer which has led to him being involved at national level too.
The winger will need to put a shift in to cause problems for the solid Barca defence.
ST: MOUSSA DEMBELE
All eyes will be on this young man come Wednesday.
The 20-year-old has been an absolute revelation at Celtic, even keeping Leigh Griffiths out the side and he just can’t stop scoring.
Could really be the start of something special for the Frenchman.
