Simply put, Celtic fans are having a ball whilst celebrating their sides sensational form with many a pint in the Transfer Tavern this season.

The Hoops sit 24 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership and with arch rivals, Rangers currently in massive turmoil – the feeling could not be better at Celtic Park this season. It really is paradise for the buoyant Bhoys.

The champions-in-waiting travel to Inverness on Wednesday and our Landlord believes that boss, Brendan Rodgers will be looking to rest a few of his main players before the Scottish Cup quarter-final against St Mirren this weekend.

This point from our Landlord has been met with agreement by the resident Celtic fans in the Tavern who really don’t mind who plays for them as they are so far ahead. What they are excited about though is potentially seeing the next generation of Hoops to represent their club and this game is a perfect time for Rodgers to do this.

Last time these two sides met was at the start of February in the last round of the Scottish Cup where a Moussa Dembele hat-trick inspired Celtic to a 6-0 win, this result combined with Inverness’ 11th place standing in the Scottish Premiership has raised the confidence even further of Celtic fans across the land.

Taking this all into consideration, Celtic fans in the Tavern have got their heads together and this is the line up they believe Rodgers will go with in mid week…

GK: Craig Gordon

Chelsea’s January target has been brilliant for Brendan Rodgers this season and will look to continue his fine form here.

RB: Cristian Gamboa

Gamboa filled in for the reliable Mikael Lustig against Hamilton last time out and our Landlord expects the Chilean to continue his duties so the aforementioned Swede is fresh for the Scottish Cup quarter final.

CB: Kolo Toure

The Ivorian has been looking for game time this season and Celtic fans in the Tavern believe a run out here is no less than Toure deserves.

CB: Jozo Šimunović

Šimunović did not play last time out against Hamilton and our Landlord expects Rodgers to play here to prove his worth over Dedryck Boyata and Erik Sviatchenko.

LB: Emilio Izaguirre

Though he filled in well whilst first choice left back, Kieran Tierney was injured – Emilio has been relegated to the bench since Tierney’s return and may well get a chance here.

CM: Scott Brown

The Celtic captain will not be looking to sit out this one as he looks to lead the Bhoys from the front. Has looked like a changed man under Rodgers and someone who has a long future ahead of him in the holding role, even in the autumn of his career.

CM: Liam Henderson

The 20-year-old centre midfielder will look to be given a chance here by boss, Brendan Rodgers as he looks to establish himself in Celtic’s first team.

RM: Gary Mackay-Steven

Mackay-Steven has been playing catch up ever since he sustained an injury in the early part of the season but our Landlord believes he may be given a chance in this fixture to prove himself after James Forrest’s withdrawal after 10 minutes against Hamilton.

CAM: Callum McGregor

The injury to Tom Rogic has opened up an opportunity to Callum McGregor and the 23-year-old will be looking to prove his worth to Brendan Rodgers, otherwise he may find himself shipped off in the summer.

LM: Scott Sinclair

Sinclair is simply Celtic’s trump card and Rodgers will be looking for him to cause many a problem for the Inverness defence from the left hand side on Wednesday.

ST: Leigh Griffiths

Griffiths will be given a chance here as Rodgers rests Moussa Dembele for the Scottish Cup quarter-final. A more than capable replacement, Inverness will have to be on the look out for a frustrated Griffiths who may well come into the game with a point to prove.
