The Huddersfield fans are in dreamland following their start to life in the Premier League this season.
The Terriers are off to a flier following wins against Crystal Palace and Newcastle in their first two games this season and their fans really look at home in the Premier League section of the Transfer Tavern.
Their brilliant start to the season is on the back off a strong transfer window and even though there were some doubts over whether this side will gel straight away but with credit to David Wagner, the manager has got his side hitting the ground running this season.
Our landlord agrees with this and he has singled out Steve Mounie and Aaron Mooy as the key performers for Wagner’s side in the opening two weeks of the season and if player’s continue to step up their performances through out the season, then it will be a very fruitful season for the Yorkshire based side.
Southampton are next on the Terriers’ radar and with Mauricio Pellegrino registering his first win as Saints’ boss last weekend with a 3-2 win over West Ham. It will be interesting to see who comes out on top between two sides who are trying to prove points in the Premier League this season.
With that said, our landlord has outlined the XI Huddersfield will go with to beat the Saints this weekend.

GK: Jonas Lössl
The Dane had his work cut out to replace play off final hero, Danny Ward, in the Terriers’ goal but it is agreed in the Tavern that the 28-year-old has made a fantastic start to his Huddersfield career with some strong performances in the opening weeks of the season.
Lössl will be looking to continue his good start in the Premier League by keeping out a Saints attack that fired three past West Ham last weekend.
RB: Tommy Smith
The Huddersfield captain has only known to be a Terrier all his career and he will be proud of his side’s start to the Premier League this season.
At 25 years of age, Smith’s peak will surely be in the Premier League and he will be pleased that his team are performing so well.
CB: Mathias Jorgensen
Nicknamed after Zanka from the movie, ‘Cool Runnings’ – Huddersfield’s season could be heading towards the stories seen in Hollywood should they keep their good run of form going.
Zanka has really shown his class in the early stages of this season, playing with no fear following his summer move from FC Copenhagen.
CB: Christopher Schindler
The man who scored the winning penalty to see Huddersfield to the Premier League, Schindler has recaptured the form he showed for much of last season in the Premier League this season.
The German has formed a strong partnership with new signing Zanka which has proved tough to break down in the first couple of games this season.
LB: Chris Löwe
Another German who has really established himself in the Huddersfield back line, Chris Löwe will be looking forward to testing himself against the Saints’ Nathan Redmond this weekend.
Should Löwe stop Redmond, the Saints may well struggle to be an attacking threat this weekend.
CM: Aaron Mooy
Made in the A-League, Mooy has really proved himself in the year or so that he has been in English football with Huddersfield Town.
Spotted by Manchester City, Mooy showed his value by bagging the winner against Newcastle who also were promoted from the Championship last season.
CM: Philip Billing
Another Dane in the Huddersfield ranks, Billing has shown great energy in his early Premier League career.
At 21 years of age, Billing will look to establish himself in the league and really show what he can do.
RAM: Elias Kachunga
At £1.1million in the current market, Kachunga seems a steal and after showing what he could do on loan at Huddersfield last season – the Terriers in the Tavern agree that they robbed Inglostadt for the Congo international.
Kachunga will look to have another positive game this weekend but with Ryan Bertrand being one of the better left backs in the league, it may well be his sternest test thus far.
CAM: Tom Ince
The expectation still seems to be massive when it comes to Tom Ince and our landlord expects him to up his performance levels in the Premier League this season.
Ince has been employed in the CAM role by David Wagner and it seems to be the best place to see this talent thrive.
LAM: Rajiv van La Parra
van La Parra isn’t the only talent in his family with his half brother, Georgino Wijnaldum, representing Liverpool at the minute but that has not over awed the Terriers’ Dutch winger as he has been impressive in a Huddersfield side that has been a real attacking threat this season.
ST: Steve Mounie
A striker who seems to have a bit about him, Steve Mounie looks the real deal in the Premier League season.
His opening day heroics against Crystal Palace have wrote himself in Huddersfield Town folklore but the Terriers in the Tavern want to see more from their main man this season in order to secure more seasons of Premier League football.
