Following their wonderfully dramatic win against Motherwell in their last domestic outing, the Celtic fans in the Transfer Tavern have been dancing on the pool tables.
For the Hoops propping up the bar, the Brendan Rodgers era at Celtic Park seems to have pretty much everything so far, including some silverware in the shape of the League Cup.
Despite winning two league titles under Ronny Deila, the Bhoys stagnated during his tenure in charge, so an exciting brand of football returning to Parkhead has delighted the fans in the bar.
Next up on their seemingly imperious march to yet another SPFL title is the short trip to the struggling Partick Thistle, fighting for their lives with the likes of Inverness.
Such is the nature of their domestic dominance, Rodgers is surely afforded the chance to field a more experimental XI and give some burgeoning talents the chance to experience what it’s like to face a team in such a dire situation.
So, with that in mind, here’s the 4-2-3-1 XI to smash the Jags.
GK: Craig Gordon
Rodgers’ stalwart between the sticks right now, the Scotland international needs all the games he can get to find the sort of consistency that once made him Britain’s most expensive ever stopper.
RB: Mikael Lustig
Barely the most disciplined in a defensive sense, though the Jags shouldn’t pose too much of a problem in that regard to Rodgers’ men on Friday night.
CB: Kolo Toure
Has looked a tad shakier than he initially did upon his arrival in Scotland, though surely has the experience to deal with Partick Thistle, with all due to respect to the Jags.
CB: Jozo Šimunović
The Croatian’s failed move to Torino is looking more and more like a blessing in disguise for the Hoops and the 22-year-old simply goes from strength this season.
LB: Cristian Gamboa
A summer signing from West Brom, the injury to Kieran Tierney has seen Rodgers look to the previously outcast Emilio Izaguirre, though surely Gamboa should be handed another chance to prove himself.
CDM: Liam Henderson
Hugely impressed on loan at Hibernian last term, Liam Henderson has been peppered into the first-team by Rodgers this term.
Could stake a claim for more of a regular starting berth, as good as Scott Brown has been this season.
CDM: Stuart Armstrong
A major part of the reason the Bhoys ran out dramatic winners at Fir Park las time out, Stuart Armstrong looks like finally realising his full potential under Rodgers.
Keeps possession moving and is slowly looking vital to the cause.
RM: Patrick Roberts
Quitely going about his business, it’s time for Patrick Roberts to truly kick and prove he can make it when back at Manchester City.
A wonderful talent, he needs to be far more clinical in attacking areas.
CAM: Tom Rogic
Loves picking up space so hard to mark as the wider men float between defensive lines, the Australian’s long-range shooting really is a sight to behold.
Not the most conventional No.10 in the world, but a fine option for Celtic.
LAM: Scott Sinclair
Pace and power in equal measure, what a signing Scott Sinclair has been for the Bhoys.
Looking more and more like the sort of talent we saw emerge at Swansea City all those years ago.
ST: Leigh Griffiths
Should recover from illness in time to afford Moussa Dembele a well-earned break, the Scotland international has a point to prove this term, particularly to Gordon Strachan.
