Next season’s Premier League is building up to be a thrilling one with the traditional top four sides preparing to open their war chests to take the title by storm, and in a bid to prevent any other sides from once again ‘doing a Leicester’.

The names that are being linked with moves to the Premier League, and the record breaking amounts of money that is supposedly going to bring them here, will surely be exciting fans around the world as they look forward to the start of a new top flight season.

One side who could be offering up one of the most exciting title challenges are Chelsea.

Boosted by the arrival of the Italian boss, Antonio Conte, and with just domestic competitions to focus on over the coming season, it could be a successful one.

What could they bring to the Premier League though? There have been some exciting names linked with the fallen Champions and it looks like they could have an imposing side come the start of the new season, here is the team that Conte could be putting out when he welcomes West Ham to the bridge for his first game in charge…..

GK: Thibaut Courtois

The Belgian shot-stopper has got his way at Chelsea and it seems as if his less than favourite goalkeeping coach, Christophe Lollichon, is on his way out of Stamford Bridge as the club look to please Cortious and keep him at the club.

Courtois has the ability to drag Chelsea through games at points, which is crucial at times as every club will have a spell where they are not playing at there best, but a side destined for the title will have one or two players will pull the side through with a 1-0 win.

RB: Branislav Ivanovic

The Serb took some flak from fans and pundits alike last season but has been a mainstay in a successful Chelsea side, for a long time now and still has a lot to offer.

The experience that Ivanovic brings to the side is something that not many other options can offer in that position, he has a real ability to read a game and will rarely get caught out because he’s moved forward when he really shouldn’t have, he’s not got a bad shot on him either.

CB: Leonardo Bonnuci

One player who has repeatedly been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this summer is one that the new boss, Antonio Conte, knows well from his time with both Juventus and the Italian national team.

Chelsea’s defence is one in transition with stalwart John Terry having signed a new contract that, whilst keeping him at the club, means he will take on a lesser role in terms of his playing role and furthermore Gary Cahill’s performances last season didn’t fill fans with confidence going forward.

The addition of Bonucci, a proven winner, to Chelsea’s back line would not only solidify the defence in preparation for mounting a title challenge but brings a player with the proven mental capability and experience to win.

CB: Kurt Zouma

Zouma made a great impression on all those that saw him playing for Chelsea last season, before his disastrous ACL injury in February which saw him miss the rest of the season and his home European Championships.

The 21-year-old looks to be the perfect fit for an Antonio Conte side, a powerful player who can bully an opponent but at the same time is more than capable with the ball at his feet, playing out from the back.

LB: Cesar Azpilicueta

Another who has been a vital component of the Chelsea squad over the past few seasons is the Spanish full back, Cesar Azpilicueta.

Since making the move from the right back slot to the left, the 26-year-old has made the position his own and has excelled.

Not only does he offer a lot moving forward, connecting well with the likes of Hazard and Willan, he completes what will be a very solid and hard to break down back four for Chelsea next season.

CM: Radja Nainggolan

Chelsea have been strongly linked with Belgium’s dominant holding midfielder, with the aim of bringing him in to replace Nemanja Matic.

Matic was well below par for the Blues last season and this has left fans pleading for Conte to make one of his first signings a trustworthy midfielder.

Nainggolan is a imposing character who has the ability to control a game from a deeper position and let the more attacking players in the side go ahead with more freedom, in the knowledge that the 28-year-old will keep everything in order behind them.

CM: Cesc Fabregas

Joining the Belgian international in the midfield is by far one of the most important players in Chelsea’s side, Cesc Fabregas.

The World Cup winner can dictate the fortune of the entire side with a good performance and would be an invaluable asset to any Premier League side.

RW: Antonio Candreva

Another, like Bonucci, who could be set to follow Chelsea’s new boss, Antonio Conte, to West London this summer is Lazio’s winger Antonio Candreva.

The 29-year-old has reportedly told Lazio that he wants to leave in order to join his national manager at Chelsea, a move which would allow Conte to replace Oscar with Willian through the middle whilst still having a dangerous option on the wing.

LW: Eden Hazard

The Belgian winger is a man on a mission after a late resurgence towards the end of what was a bitterly disappointing campaign last season.

Hazard’s situation has changed somewhat over the last few months as it had looked as if the 25-year-old was destined to leave for the likes of PSG.

However, after a string of improved performances towards the end of the season after the departure of Mourinho has renewed his desire to prove himself at the Bridge.

Should Hazard rediscover the form that saw him win Premier League Player of the Season in Chelsea’s title winning year, then he will more than likely be the single most important element of Conte’s squad.

Attacking Midfielder: Willian

Undoubtedly the best player at Chelsea last season, which probably isn’t the best accolade that Willian will be afforded over the duration of his career considering just how poor last season was, but the Brazilian was very impressive nonetheless.

ST: Alvaro Morata

The Spanish striker has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge recently, and our punters here in the Tavern think he’d be a perfect signing for the club.

Morata recently re-signed for Real Madrid, and our landlord here in the Tavern thinks the La Liga side will sell him on this summer for a profit – and a move to Chelsea certainly wouldn’t be a surprise.
