4-3-3: If Klopp picks this Liverpool XI, Everton will have no chance this weekend

It’s Merseyside Derby week in the Transfer Tavern and our landlord is on a look out to make sure the Liverpool and Everton fans are behaving.

There is no doubting the excitement flying around the Tavern and Reds fans will be looking to follow a strong March, which has seen their side win 3 out of 3, with a win over their Merseyside rivals.

However, our landlord is warning the cocky Reds fans in the Tavern that the Toffees are no push overs and will be confident following the form of big Belgian, Romelu Lukaku, who will no doubt look to punish a Liverpool defence which has had shaky moments this season.

This has not stopped our resident Liverpool fans in the Tavern, though, and they’re talking about their own goal threat led by the trio of Roberto Firmino, Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane. The latter scored a last minute winner the last time these two met at Goodison Park earlier in the season and the Toffees in the Tavern are still bitter about it.

With that being a talking point, among a few other points, our landlord has been listing down the side he reckons Jurgen Klopp should go with in the derby and we have to say, it isn’t a bad line up.

Let’s take a look at who he thinks will make the Reds XI…

GK: Simon Mignolet

The Belgian will be looking to stop fellow countryman, Romelu Lukaku, in a bid to well and truly silence his doubters.

RB: Nathaniel Clyne

Unused by England during the international break, Liverpool fans in the Tavern are thrilled at having a fresh Clyne for this game.

CB: Joel Matip

Our landlord has been impressed with Matip’s performances despite being in a tug of war with Cameroon following the debacle over AFCON earlier this year.

CB: Ragnar Klavan

Despite Liverpool only keeping 3 clean sheets in the 16 appearances he has played, Klopp looks set to continue partnering Klavan with Joel Matip at the centre of the Reds’ defence.

LB: James Milner

Milner really is a managers dream and Reds fans in the Tavern have been raising a glass to the man who literally would do anything for his side.

CM: Georginio Wijnaldum

The Dutchman has endeared himself to Liverpool fans with a few important goals for their side this season. One here would surely help cement that.

CM: Jordan Henderson

Though sidelined with a foot injury, our landlord has his sources and they’ve told him that Henderson will resume his captaincy duties for the big derby this weekend.

CM: Emre Can

Adam Lallana was ruled out with injury yesterday and so Emre Can is surely set to play in this one too. He’s been in good form of late so a top showing will be expected.

RW: Sadio Mane

Oh what could have been? Liverpool fans in the Tavern are wondering if their side would have been up there in the league had the Senegalese international not gone to the AFCON earlier this year.

ST: Roberto Firmino

Though 9 goals in 27 appearances does not sound amazing, Firmino’s contribution to the Reds this season has impressed our landlord.

LW: Philippe Coutinho

A player causing panic among the Liverpool fans in the Tavern, will Coutinho be on his way to Barcelona in the summer?
