Our West Brom fans in the Transfer Tavern have been increasingly excited by their teams’ performance in the Premier League so far this season as they continue to establish themselves in the top tier.

With the import of cash from Iranian businessman, Guochuan Lai, coupled with the extensive knowledge of manager Tony Pulis – the Baggies have found themselves climb to eighth place in the league.

They’ll be looking to stabilise that position, then, as they travel to the Riverside to play a Middlesbrough side who are the lowest scoring side in the league so far this season.

And even though the Baggies sold troubled striker, Saido Berahino to Stoke this transfer window, our Landlord believes that the Midlands side should have no trouble outscoring Boro in this one, predicted a strong win for Pulis’ men indeed.

With that said, be sure that this XI will be giving Aitor Karanka’s men a good run for their money…

GK: Ben Foster

The West Brom number 1 hasn’t missed a league game this season and our Landlord believes there will be no change here.

RB: Craig Dawson

Dawson has shown great versatility across the back for the Baggies this season but should play at right-back for this one in Pulis’ flat backline.

CB: Jonny Evans

Our Landlord believes Evans should return from his calf injury which as seen him ruled out for the last 3 weeks, a huge boost to the Baggies for their trip to the North East.

CB: Gareth McAuley

The 37-year-old may be the oldest outfield player in the Premier League but his performances have been vital in West Brom’s assault on the top half of the table, while he also provides a palpable goal threat.

LB: Chris Brunt

Following his goal against Sunderland in the Baggies last league game, our resident fans will be encouraging Brunt to join the attack as much as possible.

RM: Matt Phillips

Phillips has been key in the Baggies’ performance this season, contributing four goals and eight assists to his teams cause. Pulis seems to have completely revitalised him this season, becoming one of the most pulsating attackers to watch outside of the top six.

CM: Darren Fletcher

Fletcher has led from the front so far this season and has done his status no harm with West Brom fans inside the Transfer Tavern. It’s amazing to think just how quickly he’s taken to life back in first-team football after so long out of action.

CM: Claudio Yacob

The unsung hero in West Brom’s midfield, our Landlord expects Yacob to be breaking up the play in midfield as he has done for most of his time in the Midlands. One of the toughest tacklers in the league, he’s a wonderful foil for Fletcher.

CM: James Morrison

The Scottish international will look to break forward in order to support his sides’ attacks. After his bit-part role during the early stages of the season, the 30-year-old has returned to the starting XI of late to good effect.

LM: Nacer Chadli

Following his impressive start to the season, our resident fans have been disappointed with the drop off in Chadli’s form in recent weeks. A big game for the Belgian, who needs a big game in front of goal against a stingy Boro defence.

ST: Solomon Rondon

Though he hasn’t in the league in 6 games following his hat-trick against Swansea, our Landlord believes it is only a matter of time before Rondon finds the net again. Boro should be wary of his threat in the air.
