The punters in the Football Transfer Tavern have been talking about Celtic’s past transfer business.

They have had some absolute bargains, most notably signing Henrik Larsson for £500,000 but just like every other club, for every inspired signing, there is one that turns out worse than anyone could have imagined.

The Parkhead faithful have had to endure displays from a lot of different flops and the talk of the Tavern is now discussing are the biggest ones.

There is a lot of debating and arguing with names being thrown around left, right and centre but the consensus is that there have been a fair few.

The landlord has been listening in on the discussions and has managed to whittle the list down to FOUR Celtic flops that only hardcore fans will remember.

Scott Marshall

Any player who joins Celtic will desperately want to play in one specific game, the Old Firm derby.

Well, that is the game in which Scott Marshall got to make his debut and it went so badly that it was his only game in the green and white of Celtic.

He was part of the side that lost 3-0 to Rangers, a result which saw their bitter rivals lift the league trophy at Celtic Park.

Not the best of debuts then.

Du Wei

Another debut that was so bad the player wouldn’t play another game for Celtic.

Du Wei was supposedly one of the best players in China and his performances for Shanghai Shenhua prompted Celtic to get him on a six-month loan.

He made a few appearances on the bench before making his debut in the Scottish Cup against Clyde.

The centre-back was completely overrun and his performance was so unconvincing that Gordon Strachan substituted him at half-time, although that didn’t save them, as Clyde won the game 2-1.

Wayne Biggins

Wayne Biggins played for Celtic in one of their darkest periods and his record during his four-month spell with the side matched their misfortunes.

The striker played 10 games in the green and white of Celtic and didn’t manage to get a single goal for the club.

He had previously been a fans’ favourite at Stoke City, though he was far from that at Celtic Park and for the club’s supporters, his name goes hand in hand with darker times for the Bhoys.

Henri Camara

When you declare yourself as Henrik Larsson’s replacement you have to produce something pretty special.

Henri Camara gave the declaration upon his arrival for his loan spell at Celtic, but didn’t manage to provide the performances to back up his promise.

He struggled to win over the supporters and clearly the board, as his loan deal was terminated in January, even though he was meant to be staying for longer.

Though he did manage to get eight goals for the Hoops, but he had dug his own grave before he had even started playing.
