4 La Liga stars on Tottenham’s transfer radar that Pochettino should sign

Spurs fans in the Transfer Tavern cannot wait for the transfer market to officially open in July.

Despite a hugely impressing showing last season, with the London based club finishing third in the league, fans feel that the best is still yet to come.

With a hugely impressive manager and a young squad, the foundations for success are definitely there, and with a few personnel adjustments, Spurs could find themselves fighting on all fronts over the coming years.

With the rise of the likes of Harry Kane, the Tottenham academy has proven that it has the ability to produce world class talent, but with fixtures congestion at an all time high next season; clubs are often being forced to look for external talent to fill their squads.

With the dominance of La Liga over the last few years, it would come as no surprise that big English comes have been looking at sunnier pastures over the last few months; with a number of young Spanish talents catching the eye of the Spurs manager in particular. In fact, our landlord thinks that a few of these Spanish stars might well be on their way to White Hart Lane (Wembley on Tuesdays and Wednesdays) – this summer.

Hit Pochettino below to see FIVE La Liga signings he’s eyeing this summer!

Borja Baston

Baston

Despite not being very well known over here, Borja Baston is proving to be quite the hit in front of goal in Spain. The young Spanish star, currently on Loan at Eibar from Atletico Madrid, has scored 18 goals in all competitions this season, resulting on interest from a number of clubs across Europe.

According to the Daily Mirror, it is Tottenham leading the chase, with Pochettino very interested in the striker. With Pochettino confirming that he is in the market for added power up front, this deal would certainly seem to have some legs.

At just 23, Baston certainly has potential, and a partnership alongside Harry Kane could be irresistible.

Isaac Success

Spurs

Another relatively unknown name that is interesting Tottenham is Isaac Success. According to The Eagle Online, Pochettino is reportedly interested in the winger who netted 6 times in La Liga last season.

The young Nigerian winger reportedly would fit in alongside Harry Kane, offering an alternative to the young English striker that was so deadly infront of goal in the last campaign.

His name certainly writes the articles itself, but would he prove a success at Tottenham? The club faces competition for his signature from the likes of Watford over the summer.

Denis Suarez

Denis Suarez

A name that might be more familiar to British fans (no, not that one), you might remember Suarez from his time at Manchester City, where he won the young player of the year award in 2012.

He now plays for Villarreal, and The Sun is reporting that Tottenham sent their head of recruitment Paul Mitchell to Villarreal’s game against Liverpool, in which Suarez was one of the few success stories in a 3-0 defeat. In particular, the attacking midfielder’s passing and technical ability in particular have caught the eye of Tottenham bosses.

The fact that Spurs sent their head of recruitment to view the youngster seems to imply that they are interested; but they will have to compete with Barcelona, whom reportedly have a buy back clause in the players contract.

Antoine Greizmann

Antoine Griezmannmaa

This summer is going to be a very interesting one for Antoine Griezmann, with rumours circulating that the French international will be on the move from the Spanish giants.

Tottenham are certainly in the market for a top striker to compete alongside Harry Kane, and there are few as talented as the young Frenchman. Whilst there are no reports of a bid, it is likely that the club will go in for the striker, should he become available.

What makes this story particularly believable is the interest that Tottenham showed toward Greizmann when he was sold to Athletico in 2014, with the Frenchman himself claiming that he snubbed the club in order to join the Athletico after a number of bids from Tottenham.

If Greizman is on the move, you can bet that Tottenham will certainly have their eye on him, and with the new TV deal combined with Tottenham foray into the champions league – the money is certainly available.
