4 lethal strikers Bilic can realistically sign to help West Ham avoid relegation

It’s very clear to us here in the Transfer Tavern that West Ham have not had the start to the campaign that many had expected after their outings last season.

The Hammers find themselves just above the relegation zone and not only are they suffering through defensive woes, they are also failing to find the net themselves.

It hasn’t worked out for Simone Zaza so far, plus with Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho’s injury issues, the Irons could look to add a much-needed striker in the upcoming January window.

It’s thought the Irons’ co-owners even held crisis talks with the gaffer Slaven Bilic in which they gave him their full backing at the club.

Many punters here are hoping that David Gold and David Sullivan give that same backing to the gaffer in the transfer window, knowing money is there to spend.

With that being said, these are FOUR lethal strikers Bilic can realistically sign to help West Ham avoid relegation.

DANIEL STURRIDGE

The Hammers could turn to Sturridge, keeping in mind the experience he already has in the Premier League as opposed to the likes of Jonathan Calleri and Zaza, who haven’t settled since arriving in the summer.

Out of favour at Liverpool, perhaps having an injury issue here and there could put them off.

Still, when fit, there is no denying the talent that Sturridge has and he certainly knows where the net is.

OLIVIER GIROUD

Another experienced Premier League striker who isn’t starting every week when he really should be is Olivier Giroud.

The French international seems to score for fun when he is on the pitch for Arsenal, but with Alexis Sanchez preferred to him up top, perhaps it’s the end of the road.

With Lucas Perez impressing, Giroud isn’t getting any younger and a move to the Hammers could suit all parties.

CARLOS BACCA

Heavily linked with a move to the Hammers during the summer, it wasn’t meant to be back then.

Still, perhaps the Irons could try their luck with the AC Milan striker again.

It may be hard to tempt someone of his quality to join a side struggling, but with the intentions the club have over the coming years, he may buy into that project.

CALLUM WILSON

Callum Wilson

Callum Wilson may not have as much experience as the others in this article, but there is no denying the young English striker’s ability.

Although Bournemouth have made a good start this year, perhaps Wilson could be tempted by a “bigger club”.

It’ll be a tough deal to put together, though he could be the smartest option.
