The Football Transfer Tavern punters have been watching Chelsea closely since Antonio Conte took over at Stamford Bridge.

The men in blue have had a mixed start to the season and it is clear to see that they still have a lot of space for improvement.

Chelsea supporters in the Transfer Tavern have been quite impatient to get back to the top of English and European football after their season in mid-table, and so will want to see certain players leaving, to be upgraded in order to get Chelsea back to the top of the league.

There are some players who our punters feel just aren’t good enough and they can’t wait to see the back of them.

Branislav Ivanovic

There was a time where Branislav Ivanovic was considered one of the best defenders in the Premier League, however that time has long gone.

His failure to deliver a quality ball into the box and decreased athleticism that was inevitably going to come with age, has seen him turn into a weak link in Chelsea’s squad.

Supporters would much rather see a younger and technically stronger player to fill the position, and with Ola Aina coming through, that could happen shortly.

Gary Cahill

Gary Cahill is an England international but he is slow on the ball it is painful for Chelsea supporters, especially when that results in a goal like in the Swansea City game.

He is pretty solid defensively and would be a good player for a lot of Premier League teams, but not having john Terry next to him recently has maybe shown that he needs a leader next to him, rather than somebody like David Luiz.

Cahill will have to do for now but the punters want to see an upgrade soon.

Pedro

There was a lot of excitement at Stamford bridge when Pedro joined Chelsea from Barcelona, however his time in London has been very disappointing.

He hasn’t been able to hold down a first team spot since his arrival, and apart from one game against West Bromwich Albion he has failed to do anything of any specific brilliance.

Chelsea supporters wouldn’t really miss the Spaniard too much if he was to leave.

Victor Moses

Victor Moses was brought into Chelsea due to the potential that people at the club thought he had.

However not a lot of that potential has been reached, especially not at Stamford Bridge, as he has pretty much always been loaned out before this season.

He failed to have an impact at both Liverpool and West Ham and it has to be said that it difficult to see his Chelsea career turning round now.

It could be better off for both him and the club if they were to sell him to another Premier League side.
