The West Ham supporters at the Football Transfer Tavern have been far from impressed with what they have seen from their side so far this season.

The Hammers are currently in the bottom three and have only won one league game, a 1-0 win over AFC Bournemouth that was secured in the dying moments, and then lost all of the others.

Added to that, it took them 97 minutes to get past Accrington Stanley in the cup and it took a special Dimitri Payet free kick to book their ticket to the next round.

A lot of the West Ham supporters at the bar have been calling for change and that could start with the players.

A lot of them have been underperforming and so there could be certain members of the squad who are let go in January to pave the way for some new faces to come in.

Diafra Sakho

Diafra Sakho has been left out in the cold by West Ham for quite a while and the only reason that he is still at the club is that he failed his medical with West Bromwich Albion.

Since that incident happened the Senegalese striker has been put on an intensive training programme to get his fitness up, but the feeling is that this has been done more to offload him rather than to integrate him back into the team.

He is a good player on his day, but Sakho’s attitude has already got him in trouble before and he has had more than enough chances to redeem himself.

Raphael Spiegel

While Adrian and Darren Randolph have been battling it out for the number one spot at West Ham, Raphael Spiegel has been watching on, unable to trouble either of them.

He also has Sam Howes coming up behind him trying to get involvement with the first team.

Spiegel has had a few chances in the past, but hasn’t looked too convincing and so West Ham could be tempted to move him on and get Sam Howes involved more heavily in first team plans.

Sam Westley

West Ham have brought in a right back in each of the last two seasons, with Sam Byram and Alvaro Arbeloa now fulfilling that role in the first team.

Alex Pike has also been coming on well, while Westley had a failed loan at VVV Venlo and it seems that he has now fallen behind Pike in the pecking order.

Westley is now 22 and really needs to be looking for a team where he is in with a chance of getting first team football, and he is going to have to leave the Hammers if he is going to do that.

Pedro Obiang

Obiang has found it hard to break into the first-team at West Ham United since joining, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the midfielder depart in January, be it on loan or on a permanent deal.

At the age of 24, Obiang will want to be playing frequent first-team football, but he simply is not getting that at the London Stadium this season.
