The Sunderland supporters in the Football Transfer Tavern have been helplessly watching on as their team get off to another bad start in the Premier League.
David Moyes has come in and so far, has been unable to prevent his side from picking up a lot of bad results.
The Scotsman gained himself a very good reputation during his time at Preston North End and Everton, but since his failed time at Manchester United – that reputation has been dented and questions are being asked as to whether his confidence has been too.
Sunderland need a manager with strength who is going to drag the team up the league and some of our punters are sceptical as to whether David Moyes is the person to do that.
The landlord has been looking around and if David Moyes is to be sacked, here are FOUR potential replacements…..

Gary Rowett
Gary Rowett is arguably one of the most exciting English managers around at the moment.
He has done well at both Burton Albion and Birmingham whilst on low budgets with both teams – and could be the man to get Sunderland looking up the table.
His teams often play attractive yet effective football and often place higher in the table than they were expected to.
It is about time that Rowett got his opportunity in the Premier League and Sunderland could be the move for him.
If he doesn’t move we could see his Birmingham side back in the big time soon.
Steve Bruce
They say you should never go back, but it could be a good idea for Steve Bruce and Sunderland.
The former Manchester United defender did well to get Hull promoted last season before his disputes with the board eventually made him leave.
He would be able to tighten up Sunderland’s defence, and armed with players like Adnan Januzaj and Jermaine Defoe – Bruce would most likely be able to steer Sunderland away from the drop.
Guus Hiddink
Guus Hiddink has come in at Chelsea twice and saved their season – but has been let go straight after for a more fashionable manager.
He has also had some big jobs in the past working with big players.
If Hiddink went to Sunderland he would be given the opportunity to put his stamp on the club, rather than being considered a quick fix and could attract a higher calibre of player to the club due to those that he has worked with before.
Tim Sherwood
He may not have been able to save Aston Villa from the fate they have been resigned to for years, but his enthusiasm and man management could help Sunderland.
He had an immediate impact at both Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa and that is something that Sunderland could do with at the moment.
Players like Khazri haven’t had much of an impact so far, but if Sherwood was able to do what he did with Adebayor to certain members of the Sunderland squad they could climb the table pretty quickly.
