Chelsea were crowned Premier League champions for a fourth time today, with a typical 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge.
Jose Mourinho’s men have been crowned champions with three matches to spare, in a season where they have been clearly the best side in the country.
The Blues have led the table from the opening weekend, and have never really looked like relinquishing top spot since.
They have been accused of being boring along the way, but during the first half of the season in particular the west Londoner’s were playing some fine football.

Andre Schurrle v Burnley
On the day in which Chelsea’s title success has been confirmed, let’s cast our minds back to the opening weekend of the season.
A player who was sold in the January transfer window – Andre Schurrle – makes the list for his strike in the 3-1 win over Burnley at Turf Moore, but the goal owed everything to the stunning first time pass from Cesc Fabregas.
The Spaniard weighted it to absolute perfection, and offered an early indication of what he was going to bring to this Chelsea side.
Cesc Fabregas v Crystal Palace
The signing of Cesc Fabregas in the summer has been integral to Chelsea’s title victory, and this superb tiki-taka goal against Crystal Palace in October was a moment that summed up his quality.
The Spaniard somehow worked his way into the box after an exchange of superb one touch passes whilst his finish to give the goalkeeper the eyes and slot it into the bottom corner capped off an extremely classy moment for the Blues, and one in which helped them maintain their lead at the top of the Premier League.
Oscar v QPR
Another goal that owed a great deal to Cesc Fabregas, but the finish from Brazilian Oscar on this occasion was simply superb.
Collecting the ball at an angle inside the penalty box after a superb run and weighted pass from the Spaniard, Oscar produced a superb first time shot with the outside of his boot that spun past Robert Green into the far corner, and set the Blues on their way to another west London derby success.

Felipe Luis v Derby County
Chelsea were given a tricky tie in the Capital One Cup quarter finals back in December, when they travelled to Championship leaders Derby County.
Felipe Luis produced a moment of Brazilian brilliance to set the Blues on their way to a mouth-watering semi final clash with Liverpool, curling home a stunning free kick to make it 2-0, and open his account for the club in the process.
The left back hasn’t featured as much as he would have liked to during his first season in English football, but this moment confirmed Chelsea have signed a player who possesses genuine quality for the future.
Eden Hazard v Manchester United
A winner against Manchester United is a special moment in anyone’s season, but this effort from Eden Hazard a fortnight ago not only wrapped up the Premier League title, it was also another fantastic team goal.
The finish from the PFA Player of the Year was faultless as you would expect, but it was the build up play that made the goal all the more impressive.
Cesc Fabregas was once again involved, finding Oscar in those pockets of space he creates so well. But it was the deft backheel from the Brazilian to set Hazard away that made this goal a thing of beauty, whilst the casual way Hazard slotted the ball between the legs of perhaps the Premier League’s goalkeeper of the season was typical of his style this season.
