5 Euro 2016 Group A stars Liverpool must consider signing in the summer – Agreed?

Share

Liverpool’s season reaches its climax on Wednesday night as Jurgen Klopp’s side face Europa League defending Champions Sevilla in the competition’s final in Basel.

While Sevilla are looking to secure the trophy for a record breaking third consecutive year – Liverpool are hoping victory would secure the club’s first major trophy since 2012, and their first European triumph since their historic Champions League victory over AC Milan back in 2005.

Having already lost the League Cup final earlier in the season, Klopp will want to end the season on a positive note having placed eighth in what was a somewhat disappointing league campaign.

Success in Switzerland would guarantee Champion’s League football at Anfield next term, and the promise of Europe’s elite competition may just be a deal clincher as the former Borussia Dortmund manager will look to make a handful of summer signing’s.

Klopp and the scouts on Merseyside will have their beady eyes wide open, as the European Championship’s this coming summer in France are a perfect opportunity to eye up talent prior to next season.

Group A may just be the most interesting of all in France this summer, as the host’s young squad will take on neighbours Switzerland, a resurgent Romania and finally Euro new boys Albania.

Rey Manaj

Rey Manajd

Outspoken youngster Manaj is Albania’s hottest young talent.

Currently making his breakthrough into the Inter Milan first team, the 19-year-old has already drawn comparisons to a young Zlatan Ibrahimovic from our landlord here in the Tavern, both for his ability and antics off the field.

Manaj would be a fantastic acquisition for the Reds.

Breel Embolo

Breel Embolod

Dubbed the new Didier Drogba by many punters here in the Transfer Tavern, Switzerland wonderkid Embolo has already attracted attention from a host of Europe’s top clubs.

The young striker – having scored 30 goals over the last two seasons for his current side Basel – could be the answer to Liverpool’s striking woes.

He has speed, strength, and an abundance of technical ability, making him one of Europe’s most in-demand forwards.

Granit Xhaka

The Red’s are in desperate need of solidifying their midfield.

While Can, Milner and Henderson hold the fort well, Klopp will be looking for some world class additions to solidify and at times hit and miss trio.

Xhaka is allegedly set for a summer switch to Arsenal, but don’t be surprised to see Liverpool swoop in for the highly rated Monchengladbach man.

Andrei Ivan

Romania were ranked 7th in the FIFA world rankings late last year, having enjoyed a successful qualifying campaign.

Having now slipped to a more realistic (but still surprising) 19th, the resurgent Romanian’s are set for their first major tournament since 2008.

Their starlet – University of Craiova attacking midfielder Andrei Ivan – will turn heads this summer.

Eliaquim Mangala

ELIAQUIM MANGALA

With Mamadou Sakho having all but ruined his Liverpool career, the Reds’ will need to reinforce at the back this summer.

If Sakho’s France counterpart, Eliaquim Mangala – who is set to leave Manchester City in the coming transfer window – shows the kind of form on the big stage as he did at his previous club Porto, Jurgen Klopp could find himself a steal.
